This place has great food, interesting atmosphere and friendly service. We started with a house salad (the large is sharing sized) and olives ... and my entree, the green lasagne, was terrific. My friend loved her gnocchi. Over all: very positive experience.

Sunday evening in Seattle. Freezing cold and rainy. Feeling like a home cooked meal but with some atmosphere. My friend recommended Osteria La Spiga. SO SO glad she did since the dinner was great. We shared a few starters (OMG the cauliflower dish is amazing)...More

The food was tasty but not enough for the price. The dessert, however, was superb. We don't remember the name of the dessert, but it was a chocolate gelato made at the restaurant. The service was also great.

We arrived for my birthday as a special occasion. Had been several years since our last visit. We enjoy Italian and fine dining when available. Having to pay for bread is a minor annoyance. Ordered wine and received two glasses not even half filled. When...More

Description
In Italy, the osteria is an inviting neighborhood spot where locals savor fresh, seasonal food while enjoying the company of good friends. Renowned for its Northern Italian cuisine, la Spiga is authentic enough in both food and ambience to make you feel a wave of nostalgia, even if you've never been to Emilia-Romagna. Chef and co-founder Sabrina Tinsley crafts the Romagnola cuisine to make it genuine, yet hers alone. Using the very finest ingredients, menus are changed seasonally to reflect what is freshest in local markets. As co-founder and host Pietro Borghesi says, "An evening at la Spiga is like dining in Italy - without the plane fare."
