We stopped by Bakeman's before our Underground tour. The service was fast, the sandwiches were excellent (I had the meatloaf and my husband had the pastrami), but the gentleman running the cash register was pushy. I commented that the lemon poppyseed dessert looked good and before I knew it, he was dishing a slice up onto a plate. I then... More

Used to go to Bakeman's regularly for lunch takeout, than was no longer downtown, and thus the hiatus. Business downtown, went back of course. Had the usual turkey sandwich. Great taste, as always. Tomorrow, I'll get another old favorite - meat loaf. A good solid place, friendly people. I see reviews here, some people upset about the "service." Well, it's... More

The turkey sandwich and Bakeman's in general is an institution in Seattle. Like the Seinfeld Soup Nazi, be ready to order like the regulars or you'll test the patience of some of the staff. Love the turkey sandwich with the cranberry sauce...it's nothing exotic, but it tastes so good for a reasonable price.

A little hole in the basement eatery. Sandwiches served fast, and I do mean fast!! The meatloaf sandwich was excellent. Look past the decor and it's a great grab and go meal!

We've enjoyed many great lunches with sandwiches from Bakeman's. Wether you love ham and cheese or liverwurst…you will find the best of the traditional sandwiches right here at Bakeman's….and they don't scrimp on the fillings! Be prepared for long lines around the noon hour, but the line moves quickly and the wait is well worth it. Don't forget to say... More

Crazy cool lunch spot in Seattle's oldest neighborhood, Pioneer Square. I stumbled in after taking the Seattle Untamed Tour about the Klondike Goldrush, just down the street. Made the mistake of getting in line without knowing what I wanted to order and felt zapped into the soup nazi episode of Seinfeld! HAHA! I survived, and the food was great. Especially... More

If you can get past the look and feel, the food is good and they offer dessert. Most places now a days don't offer dessert.

The place feels slightly institutional, the helpful staff don't feel the need to be overly friendly, the choices appear a little limited, and the bus-person is very proactive. HOWEVER, the sandwiches are lovely: very flavourful without being overstuffed with extras. We shared a roast turkey on wheat, a meatloaf on white, and some potato salad. They reminded me of sandwiches... More

Just go here for lunch. The meatloaf sandwich is great and they just stuff so much turkey in to their signature sandwich. Soup is good too. Colourful cashier and friendly atmosphere. I will go back everytime I am in Seattle

Thank Steve T
