Once visited by Diners, Drive-in & Dives...this visit was definitely Dive. I can deal with the vinyl booth seat being duct taped together but when your pancakes come out raw, that is just sad. Waitress brought us 1/2 of our order. I received the ricotta triple berry pancake and an egg over easy, but not the toast to dip in... More

Still a good place for breakfast, but not what it used to be. Service was fast, My B & G's were okay, but not to die for. My son had the ricotta pancakes. Same, good but not overly great. Parking can be hard to find.

I always order the ricotta blueberry pancakes. They are so good with warm syrup. Amato's is a favorite of mine, and has been on Guy Fieri's Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Make it a destination stop if you are in the area.

Had a Sunday breakfast with friends. The menu has a unique slant on breakfast. For example the pork loin "steak" is tender juicy and topped with peppers onion a little red sauce and melted cheese. So much better than the usual ham or Canadian beacon. Pancakes come with lots of berries and ricotta cheese. It may sound odd but it... More

The most amazing Ricotta pancakes and anything with their homemade Italian sausage is a must try. Featured on diners and dives and fits the bill from an atmosphere perspective. Quick service quality diner breakfast. Filled with locals that enjoy lingering and catching up

The place is old fashioned and I don't mind that. What I do mind is a very limited stupid breakfast menu. You can get an omelette with 3 things on on it and forget veggies on it because they never heard of them. To be fare my omelette as cooked ok but came with little potatoes and not hashbrowns. It's... Amato's is an Omaha staple that has endured the development of the Ak-Sar-Ben area. Whether for breakfast or lunch, you won’t walk away hungry. Service is quick and food is prompt. Prices are reasonable. The café is not a show piece; but the food makes up for it. Amato’s is open to serve great Italian food! This trip was for... More

I've been here twice, both times I've had the ricotta pancakes, once with blueberries. They are worth the return any time I am in Omaha. My kiddos have had the biscuits and gravy, the french toast, and the pancakes, and always enjoy it all. The service has always been just fine, and the atmosphere is cool and casual.

I drove to Omaha from Tucson, Az & friends drove from Pittsburgh, Pa to attend the 2016 NCAA CWS in Omaha. I was informed by another friend of Amota's as she had watched a TV program on the cafe & thought it would be a good place to have breakfast. My friends & I, 4 of us, arrived at 9:30am... More
