In visited in April 2022. I ordered an escargot appetizer, a duck main course with a side of foie gras, and mousse for dessert. Everything was excellent. The escargot and foie gras were the best I've ever had. They were so good that if I could do it over again I would have skipped dessert and gotten an extra order of escargot. And all of this cost less than $60, which struck me as a good bargain. Will be returning.

My parents treated me to my birthday here and we couldn't have had a better experience. From the welcome to departure, everything was inviting and well done. We had such a great time that we decided to take my Mom for her birthday the next month and my dad for his over the summer. Each meal we had was perfectly executed. The charcuterie is excellently crafted, the bourguignon is outstanding, the lamb shank is succulent. Simply stated, everything is over the top delicious. Additionally, the wine list is quite extensive. The service is great too. Please do yourself a favour and dine here over and over and over again! You will not regret it.

Had family gathering of 10 hosted by my wife’s brother. Reservations were at 7 and we weren’t on way home until after 10 pm. Service exceptional but getting all our food out a bit sluggish. Of course they were very busy so I’m sure kitchen. Biggest issue was my brother-in-law is very knowledgeable about wines and has three private storage facilities with a beautiful one in his home. He loves to show off his expertise but was disappointed and appalled that the first six selections he made weren’t even on site. List completely out of date. From apps to desert though all the choices were wonderful. Entrees ranged from salmon to steak. Salads small but good. Loved escargot and charcuterie excellent. Loved crème brûlée and chocolate moose

I hate to disparage dining establishments, particularly during these trying times, but dinner tonight left a rather bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. Here is an honest assessment: PROS: The waitress was very patient, and had a kind disposition. Positive attitude and helpful. The cocktails were well prepared; particularly enjoyed an interesting take on an old fashioned with bourbon, bitters, and brown sugar infusion. French Onion soup was rich and decadent. Nice base with generous offering if delicious cheese. CONS: Appetizers of Brie Josette and duck "foie gras" left much to be desired. Both served on buttered toasts, but the brie lacked creaminess and was overwhelmed by the sweetness of a house chutney slathered atop the cheese. The duck paté was bitter and extremely underwhelming. Waited approximately 50 minutes for salads. The anchovies on the Caesar were nice, but the dressing and lettuce were unappealing. The house salad was even a notch below. Topped with a vinaigrette that lacked any snap whatsoever, the salads lacked any aspect of uniqueness or interesting flavor. We waited nearly another hour before entrees were served. I tried choucroute de la mer, a house specialty of seafood in a broth flavored with sauerkraut and potatoes. The effort was good, but the proteins ruined the dish. The cod, flounder, and salmon lacked freshness and imparted a flavor of fishiness and a sense of 'offness' to the whole dish. My daughter had the bouef bourgignon. Sauce needed to be reduced further to give off the flavors that make the dish a French classic. Meat was stringy, veggies so-so and sauce did nothing to give the dish life. We ordered 4 steak entrees (2 ribeye, 2 filets) and all cuts of beef lacked moisture (all ordered medium rare). One of the orders was particularly dry even though the center did have some pinkness to it. The chef/owner? came out and in a rather confrontational manner said "So you want the steak rare?" Took the plate away with a rolling of the eyes. I am certain if he would have tasted the dish, his reaction may have been quite different. We arrived for dinner at 5:45, and ended up leaving the restaurant at 8:30, without ordering dessert. I understand there has been a recent change of ownership. I can't speak with an informed opinion to any decline in the quality of the food since the new group has taken over as this was my first time having a meal here, but this experience missed the mark on nearly all fronts. $600 later, and the staff seemed quite perturbed by our presence, as there wasn't so much as a goodbye upon our exit. We'll chalk it up to a bad night, but be forewarned, restaurants can thrive for a while off of the reputation that has been established in years past, but if the product doesn't live up to the standard that existed in its heyday, inevitably it will be exposed for what it is; and tonight that was pretty darn bad.

The menu was varied and took me to Paris. The wine list was impressive and the staff were very knowledgeable about the list. The appetizers were delicious as was the cassoulet. I only wish I could have tried the desserts, but we were stuffed! A wonderful find !

We dined on the dinner specials of the evening and enjoyed every bite. The French bread is delicious. The salad lightly dressed. The duck breast was delightful and the seafood perfection.

I am always looking for a great French place. I will say this is the best I have found is Omaha. They have an appetizer sampler option that is wonderful. Their entrées are slow cooked, tender and fabulous. The duck is superb.

If you want to experience amazing authentic French food outside of France in a charming intimate setting, you need to visit Le Voltaire when in Omaha. Each dish is carefully handcrafted to perfection, the wine list is amazing and the service is attentive and thorough, not to mention friendly. It was a superb special evening to celebrate my older sister's birthday. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation! The associated bakery next door is fabulous as well.

This was my first visit to Omaha. I love good food and rely on other Trip Advisor posts to determine which restaurant is best suited for me. Well, le Voltaire did deliver in a big way. I have been to France and dined in nice French restaurants in Houston. This restaurant is wonderful. We ate dinner on a Thursday and returned for Friday lunch. The bakery next door, Le Petit Paris, is equally fantastic. The croissants taste just like the ones in France. You need to open a sister store in St. Charles, Mo. I will be back!! Job well done.

Did you know that Tuesday is half price wine by the bottle night? Well, we didn't either, but we were able to score a wonderful bottle on a recent Tuesday night when 1/2 price for a great wine seemed just right by our thinking. $20.00 for a $40.00 bottle is very reasonable for a great bottle of French wine to accompany your meal. The bouillabaisse is my go to and my wife loves to dine on appetizers. The french onion soup is some of the best you will ever enjoy and I always like the basic salad with a slab of blue cheese on top - the best. Don't think that Le Voltaire is an overpriced slice of the upper crust. It's very reasonable fine dining in Omaha. However, there are only 12 (or so) tables, so count on making a reservation, as you wouldn't want to travel to West Omaha and be disappointed by not being able to be seated when you would like - or take the risk and enjoy the bar...another viable option. One of our favorites for special occasions or a Tuesday night impulse celebration with half price bottles of wine! Bon appetite

Nick & Wilson at Le Voltaire make our numerous dinners there exceptional. Le Voltaire offers a superb wine list & classic French dishes like escargot, french onion soup, & cassoulette. The staff is always very pleasant, the cocktails innovative & fun, & the food & baked goods from the French bakery next door are usually excellent.
