After a long day of hiking Katla Geopark, my partner and I were desperate for a hearty, warm meal. I am a vegetarian and have had poor luck finding a good meal on my travels in Iceland. Certainly, I found it here! In addition to the delicious food, the hosts are kind and personable and we shared a great conversation.... More

After a great day sight seeing, we stopped on our way back to the hotel. We were made to feel welcome in this family business from the moment we walked through the door. Had the lamb from the specials and my wife the chicken, both of which meant we could have the soup for free. Great flavours in the soup... More

We were staying at a farm near Vik during our travels and after a cold day hiking I was looking to settle down to a hot meal so our host directed us here. She mentioned that they were "very welcoming and would make you feel at home" and "the prices are very reasonable". However 8000 Krona later and, after picking... More

Our Lamb Soup cost 2.390 kr. so I don´t know what you were paying for. You must have had so many drinks, but as you know a drink in Iceland is not cheap. We don´t put to much salt in our food, but we have salt on all the tables if one needs more salt in the meal. It is... More

We had an early dinner here and it was lovely. It's a casual place with a little pottery shop that I enjoyed browsing while waiting for my meal.

We stopped in here after a particular dreary and tiring day. The young woman (rose? tattoo on chest) was super pleasant and warm. She may remember us as the people who got the whole dining area to try saying "gull". That was a laugh! The food was perfect - we didn't have anything crazy, lamb stew and a burger. The... More

I thought the lady was a bit abrupt when she asked me if I wanted to see the menu "again". Actually she turned out to be quite the opposite as she explained that she's just turned 30 and thinks she has started her menopause early (it was so funny!!). The salmon with salad on flatbread was really quite nice (my... More

We had a nice dinner with my wife. I had the local lamb soup (I wanted to try this typical dish) and a greek salad. My wife had a vegetables pie. The soup was really tasty (It tastes lamb all of it). It was cooked for many hours with spices and fresh herbs. The pie was crispy and tasty too.... More

Description
Eldstó Art Café/Bistró is an artistic café where all tableware is handmade on the premises by the owners G.Helga and THór (Thor Sveinsson), potter. The coffee we serve is made of quality coffee beans and our cakes, bread and soups are homemade as well as our various small dishes. Icelandic lamb and fresh fish is on the menu and lettuce grown in the surrounding countryside. Having a delicious breakfast in our lovely café on your way south is an excellent idea. We have a special menu for groups.
