The restaurant has nice atmosphere, different type of food selections. I ordered the scallops that came with some things that I cannot eat because of gastric problems. I asked if instead of all the sides I could have French fries, which were on the menu with other dishes. The waitress told me that I would have to pay $3.00 extra.... More

We had a wonderful celebration in the Red House Restaurant for our family -- 12 people attended and it was in the Delft Room. The service was fantastic. Nicole excellent server, everyone enjoyed their dinner even the teenagers, and the room was comfortable and cheery with the flowers I brought from Brattle Street Florist. Thank you

This place is on a quieter street near Harvard Square and very cute, inside and out. Food was delicious; all of us enjoyed our meals. Portions were just right. Although the menu has a lot of variety, lobster is clearly the specialty, with many lobster dishes available. Service was spotty; we waited for more water and other items. Must make... More

Need I say more? This cozy, atmospheric and old restaurant in the heart of Cambridge was recommended to us by locals who are regulars. We settled into a booth and started with oysters...how could we not at that price? Our dinners included a variety of pasta, meat and fish and each of us was happy with our meal including salads,... This was the second year I visited this restaurant. I dinned twice there and had late lunch of oysters three times, this year alone. The salads are absolutely wonderful, fresh and delicious, the meat is terrific and the oysters were particularly tasty.

I came by chance for lunch at Red House; I chose a Half sandwich and soup of the day, everything was fresh and delicious

I loved it that I stumbled upon this place when it was cold and raining. It was nice to enter a quaint, cozy cabin with a fireplace. Loved the rustic and homey ambience of this restau bar. The food was ok. I ordered octopus salad and lobster chowder. I've had much better pulpo, this was one was on the rubbery... More

We were at The Red House before, but after this experience we will not come back. The octopus was like leather, literally not edible. We sent it back, and to be fair, they did not charge for it. The waiter confided, that other people had complained about the octopus before, yet they still kept it on the menu. The tuna... More

We have been here before and always liked it but this time it felt like a horrible chef has been put into a nice environment. The octopus was so rubbery that you could no longer cut it with the knife provided (when we mentioned this to the waiter, he said "yeah, others have complained too" ...). I ordered the tuna... More

This is a truly lovely establishment in a historical location at Harvard Square. There's a number of very interesting Mediterranean and generally fish inspired dishes but there are plenty of meat, chicken and pasta related choices And the oysters, well, they're superb. Polite service, good and not prohibitive wine list. We have plenty of that around the square...

Description
The Red House specializes in locally-sourced, European & Mediterranean inspired cuisine. Our seasonally changing menus features a variety seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes, many of which are prepared with greens and vegetables from our organic farm in Winchendon, MA. In crafting the restaurant's menu, owner Paul Overgaag and executive chef Marc Plourde have chosen to bring fresh organic foods and locally produced ingredients to center stage.

In addition to our main dining room and bar-area, the Red House also contains three intimate private dining rooms which can comfortably seat between 8 and 14 guests. Perfect for your next family or business gathering, each of our three private rooms features authentic period detail, with fireplaces and original wide pine floorboards and woodwork. Additionally, we are able to provide customized-set menus for private diners and events as needed.
