We happened upon The Blue Room while looking for a breakfast option near our hotel. It was a freezing cold Sunday morning but the restaurant and staff were warm and welcoming. Best coffee I have had in ages. The omelettes we ordered were original and quite tasty -- one featured cheese, mushrooms and lemon and the other was scallops with... More

This was my first time back at this restaurant since its changes/renovations. While the space is quite nice, the menu is more eclectic and limited. While the food was fairly good (but not outstanding), the service was dismal. It was a Saturday night, but the restaurant was not very busy. Our waiter was slow to take our drink order, and... More

I have never written a review like this but had a terrible experience this evening. My entree of grilled cauliflower was inedible due to smoke taste. Server never came back after food was served to ask how things were. Nothing was done to make accommodations when I finally reported my issue. Other meals were mediocre and overpriced. One bright spot... More

This restaurant, now in its third or fourth incarnation, has a lot going for it. The newly updated space is pleasant and sophisticated and food is very good but with easily correctable lapses. To start, the by-the-glass wine list is far too short, especially for a place whose proprietors own Central Bottle wine emporium. We'd like to see more then... More

I can't believe we've lived in the Greater Boston area (including Cambridge) for almost 20 years, and we have just discovered The Blue Room! We were there for dinner last night, we loved it so much we came back today with friends for its Sunday Brunch. The Blue Room has short dinner and brunch menus, but items on the two... More

We enjoyed our dinner at the cosy Blue Room last Saturday evening. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive. We shared the special appetizer, I had the special entree of gnocchi and sampled the steak and pork chop entrees....all were great. Validated parking at the convenient One Kendall Sq garage for $5 was an added plus.

Visited here with a large group for a business dinner. Nice place with mediterranean influenced dishes. We shared three appetizers family style - a very nice mixed salad, a wonderful and flavorful brussel sprouts dish and oysters. Dinners included steak, chicken and a couple seafood offerings. Very flavorful and definitely a spot I would consider again if in the area.... More

This restaurant, crowded with academics and professionals, offers passable cooking with an open kitchen and a bustling atmosphere. I've eaten here about 4 times over as many years and have always been satisfied if also underwhelmed: the portions are small, but the sauces are rich and caloric, like the prices.

We had dinner at the Blue Room last Saturday night - ate outside, shared appetizers and desserts and had great entrees. Nick, the owner came by, and recommended a great wine - turns out it was one of the least expensive wines on their great wine list. We had been to the Blue Room before the fire that closed them...
