We couldn't get a reservation at this very popular highly regarded restaurant so we waited on line and got a seat at the bar when they opened. The interior is very nice , the bar is well staffed and attractive. We found the single glass wine list to be very limited, for reds and whites. Likewise the menu Is limited... More

I had dinner alone at the bar tonight, Tuesday on a quiet week. On a scale of one to ten I'd give Giulia about a twelve. A semolina cake app that was really an imitation sushi roll with lardo flavored with spruce and lime somehow tasting like ginger, but light as a feather. Beautiful oysters not with cocktail or mignonette... More

Last night we celebrated a friend's big birthday with a party at Giulia, not far from Harvard Square. It was spectacular! We'd been wanting to go for months, because of the great word of mouth, but the lack of reservations was a barrier. So we were thrilled in the past weeks when a friend invited us to join them at... I was in town for a veterinary conference. I ate at mistral the other night and was sorely disappointed. Expensive and flavorless food. I am so glad I came here tonight! This dinner was amazing! I mostly followed the suggestions of the bar server. I started with semolina cakes, followed by the yellow fin tuna, then the boar papperdale. The... More

Recently went to several restaurants after hearing great things about them only to have high expectations disappointed. Had high expectations last night for Giulia's after reading and hearing great things about the restaurant. Finally, our expectations were met and exceeded. Had their calamari dish to start. Very unique and incredibly delicious. Pasta course came with wild boar, also delicious. We... More

Best Italian in the greater Boston metro area. Fabulous homemade pasta. Nice wine selections. Scrumptious desserts. Excellent service. Simply wonderful.

The food was all excellent - pasta dishes each had something special going on. Little starter - semolina cake with parsnip cream - was a delight. Wine on the pricey side, but other dishes were reasonably priced. Added bonus for the hard of hearing: no booming music, and a respectful clientele that doesn't yell! I strongly recommend.

Giulia is a neighborhood upscale Italian restaurant just outside Harvard Sq. Reservation are a must. I recommend an early time because they are busy every night. The selection is excellent and changes frequently. The waitstaff is very helpful and the food is wonderful. The veal flank steak is a regular dish and a definite winner. All pasta is made in... We were lucky to make an early (5:45) reservation on a recent Thursday, and the wait was worth it. Our group numbered four, and we sampled appetizers of semolina cakes, burrata, salumi and my favorite, chicken liver - all were exquisite! Then came the pasta dishes, including pappardelle with wild boar (almost up to par with what we enjoyed in... More

We were lucky to get a reservation, but the 'extensive menu with unknown terms' and a busy waitstaff meant that this was not the right restaurant for us. It was packed - so must be very popular.
