We went to this simple pub at the end of our holiday in Sant Antioco! A pleasant surprise with a delicious Sardinian appetizer as well as the two pizza sandwiches! Nice idea! Delicious beers and truly friendly and attentive staff! Excellent value for money! Well done

I was extremely disappointed by my recent visits to the Menhir Pub Pizzeria in S.Antioco. I had seen this new place in a central area of the town in passing and I was determined to try it but unfortunately my experience fell below expectations (despite it being a new place).
The first evening was rejected because they had no alternatives for vegetarian menus apart from pizza. The second evening proved to be even more negative. As soon as we arrived we were told that there were no tables and that we would have to wait at least 40 minutes, which I was very surprised since we saw several people who were finishing. However, after receiving this response we moved to the next place for a drink, to wait for the tables to become free. As soon as some tables became free, we approached to ask for a table again and the answer was "we are not up to date and we cannot serve you". At which point I immediately realized that the staff seemed to be disinterested and not attentive to the needs of the customers and
demonstrated a lack of professionalism. A restaurant should be able to guarantee an adequate service especially in a small area like that of S.Antioco in the height of the summer season, and this is something that the Menhir has failed miserably.
I can only strongly advise against it based on my personal experience. I hope that the owner takes my feedback seriously and takes appropriate steps to provide training for his staff or at least inform potential customers that the service is closed!

Impossible to share your pizza with your children... Even though the pizzas are huge! They clearly asked us to order a plate of fries for 3rd so that we could then share our pizzas... Incomprehensible! Too bad because the pizzas are very good and the team is friendly...

We went to this place for dinner. We decided to opt for the pizzas, driven by the inviting appearance they had having observed them at the other nearby tables.
One of the two pizzas chosen was white with curls, but it didn't even have a hint of curls! We pointed this out to the waiter who replied in summary that usually when you order sea urchin-based dishes this can be the result. However, he asked us if we wanted to add any other ingredients.
Furthermore, both pizzas were very burnt underneath. We had the feeling that they were in quite a rush due to the many customers in the room. We are so sorry for what happened, because the place is very nice and the staff are friendly.

My wife and I were on a bike trip of Southern Sardinia and we'd been looking for pizza each day at lunch but never found it. I guess pizza is not a lunch food in Sardinia. Anyway, by the time we reached Sant'Antioco were we dying for some. Luckily Menhir was reopening that night (after being closed for a couple of weeks), and we were fortunate enough to get one of the three walk-in spots as the entire restaurant was already reserved for the night. I guess the locals had all be desperate for Menhir to reopen as well. The pizza was delicious (thin/just enough char on the crust/tasty toppings) and there wasn't any need to do the whole 4-course thing that we had been indulging in for the prior week. As an added bonus, Menhir has a great selection of good beer, which was proving challenging to find in Sardinia. It was a welcome break from hydrating with Ichnusa (even the unfiltered type).

Stumbled on this place just south of the main drag and church. I loved it instantly. It's part rustic tavern, part pizzeria with a good menu of simple kitchen food (a particularly good range of pizzas, small plates and dolce), check table cloths that kind of thing. BUT the real draw for me was the excellent range of pump and bottled beers - craft beers of the world etc but all at really reasonable prices. Italy has gone mad for the craft but bars tcan be quite pricey. This place was quite different - even cheaper than my local at home. The staff were also exceptionally friendly and I had a bit of banter over the football in my tourist's Italian (they show the calcio but it doesn't dominate this charming little place). I wish I had a bar like this at home.
