So I went to Black Sheep for lunch today. I had dined there many times before and loved it. Today I ordered the CSS Manassas Battleship which has the fried trout in it. After delicately working in organizing this massive sandwich I took my first highly anticipated bite. OMG the salt!! I don't know if the chef spilled a box... More

We could only eat half of our sandwiches so would have appreciated the waitress recommending us to split them, which is presumably what people do. Food was delicious. Sort of a long wait for the food to come for lunch

I enjoyed an awesome sub today ... The CSS Manassas. It included fried trout in a wonderful cajun tartar sauce. The fish was tender, the ingredients were fresh, and (best of all) it was all housed in an incredible French baguette. WARNING: All their subs are huge! You may even want to share a half sub ... so bring a... More

A modern, interesting, take on Southern comfort food, but the brunch dishes didn't quite work for me. The Challah French toast had fruit and wasn't too sweet, but pretty rich. Portions are quite large. Coffee was excellent. Servers were attentive and tattooed, as befitting a trendy spot close to VCU.

I've reviewed The black sheep before and gave it five stars. This visit however, was not so good. We waited 20 minutes to be seated at one of the four empty, but un bused tables. And, you guessed it we had to wait quite a while for our order to be taken as well. Waitress was less than friendly, she... More

We tried doing brunch here on a Sunday and it was ok. We have had much better at other cool spots in Richmond. The menu sounds better than the food actually is. Maybe dinner is better!

The Black Sheep restaurant seems out of place in Richmond, Virginia. It belongs in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, or Charleston, South Carolina, or Natchez, Mississippi. But it is very popular here so ownership apparently knows what they're doing. Located at 901 West Marshall Street, west of Belvidere, Black Sheep is described as "a hip, intimate, veggie-friendly cafe serving southern fare, brunch and... More

My boyfriend and I got a large USS congress. We shared that and still took half home. This is a small place- we enjoyed the booth by the window. They serve breakfast all day and I plan to partake next time. Service was good. My only complaint is I wish they had some potato chips for sale as a side... More
