Went here for a glass of wine and cheese/meat plate on a Friday night. Very good cocktails and wonderful service. The bar is nice and outside is pretty on a warm night. Wine and cheese selection were excellent. Great location and were able to find bar seats with no problem for my girlfriend and I. Would definitely recommend to anyone... More

My boyfriend and I came here to have a drink around 7:00 on a Thursday and we were told we would have to wait forty minutes. We decided that we would come back later and try again. We came back around 10:00 PM and we saw the owner locking the door despite the fact that the sign on the door... More

Hi Rebecca. Sorry for the confusion. Thursday was unusually busy due to Valentines week so we were on a wait even for the bar that night. The incident at the door was an honest mistake--our GM locked the door out of habit and immediately realized what he'd done and unlocked it. We were indeed still open and apologize for the... More

The Secco Wine Bar provides a lively spot for drinks and snacks before or after dinner. The bar tends to fill up on weekends with a very lively crowd. If you can get a seat, try the marinated olive appetizer for a different taste treat.

You could never tell it was the old Buddy's, as the space is now slick and clean. The nice outdoor space would be great on a warmer night. Greeted warmly and seated quickly. Interesting array of menu items, and with a great selection of well selected cheeses and meats. The real star here is the painstaking wine selection--very unique and... More

Recently relocated to the old Buddy's on Robinson St. Owner Julia Battaglia has redone the space with great style, copper topped bar, entirely refreshed, more seating than the old Secco. New additions include full bar and entrees in addition to small plates. Slightly larger kitchen. Same great food and knowledgeable wine service. Secco might be one of RVA's only wine... More

Brunch is my all time favorite meal of the day and I am not finding too many places that have good brunch options until I found SECCO. I ordered the French toast which looked dry when the server put it on the table but I was so wrong. It was crisp on the outside and soft and melted inside your... More

Let me start by saying this place isn't for everyone. You need to love wine, a very casual atmosphere, small, interesting plates, not a major meal. If all that appeals, then you will love it too. It is a small space in Carytown, but they are planning to move this coming fall so double check. Cassie, our bartender/server was delightful... More

We stopped at the Secco for wine and relaxation. It was comfortable and had a welcoming atmosphere. The wine selections were international and provided a great variety. The bartender was very knowledgeable, engaging and enjoyed good wines and sharing her knowledge. We only had appetizers but the food selection looked excellent and from comments from other guests was enjoyed. It... More

This was my first visited to Secco. Our waitress was very helpful and polite! We ordered several appetizers, Jamon Serrano/Miguel & Valentino ham and the house made pate. The ham was okay for me, to be fair I am not much of ham person. The pate was not what I expected for pate. The wine suggestions by the waitress was... More
