I was in Atlanta on business and stopped here after visiting the Aquarium. I was here between lunch and dinner times. I am not familiar with German beer so I tried some samples, ordered 1L and had another 0.5L. Great beer selection. Knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders. If I'm in Atlanta again I'll come back here!

Der Biergarten was a great place to sit outside, eat, drink and relax. The food was delicious. We were there on a Wednesday night so it was not too crowded. My one complaint was the service was a bit slow. Still, we enjoyed our time here. I would recommend and return.

I actually met some Germans who live in Atlanta and frequent this place. Great food offerings from simple brats to large meals. Great beer selection and fun atmosphere. Fun people. Great outdoor area.

I remember having a great time drinking and singing German songs with friends. The food was good, the drinks were great. Nice atmosphere on the upstairs deck...next thing I knew it was tomorrow.

This is one of the best beer gardens I have ever been to, I am not a huge fan of beer, but the beers are beyond description. But that's not even the best part of Der Biergarten, it is the servers who make the experience one of the most memorable. I highly recommend. P.S. Definitely ask for Ayan to be... More

And the service was phenomenal! We sat at the outdoor bar/seating area and TL was our server! He is amazing and just made this place even... More

What you would expect from a biergarten - great beer and German cuisine! They offer more substantial meals if you want something other than sausage. Beer selection is staggering. Fun atmosphere and wait staff. We ate outside - lovely!

Friends suggested visiting Der Biergarten. Loved it. The food was authentic (I lived 20 years in Germany) and the Warsteiner pilsner was on draft!!! Nice atmosphere has also an outside "Biergarten". We visit on a regular basis. Highly recommend for those craving German food and beer.

Thank John K

Opening just in time for Oktoberfest 2010, Der Biergarten gives Atlanta residents and visitors a true taste of German culture. Located Downtown within the Luckie Marietta District, Der Biergarten fills a citywide void of beer gardens and authentic German fare while providing world-class service in a festive, traditional atmosphere. Co-owner Wolfgang Hartert, a local resident and native of Germany, provided much of the inspiration for Der Biergarten. As he says, “Atlanta needs a restaurant like Der Biergarten. The significant German population and business community in Atlanta is begging for an authentic dining experience. I know that Der Biergarten will provide Europeans, just like me, a place to share the rich heritage of Germany with American friends.” Der Biergarten is made up of an elegant white tablecloth dining room, an alley with Fussball and table shuffleboard, and, of course, the indoor/outdoor beer garden. With traditional family style seating -a la Munich- and multiple flat-screen TVs, the beer garden is the best place for watching European or American football! Enjoy our authentic German cuisine while being surrounded by Bavarian décor, such as the hand-painted trompe l'oeil ("illusionistic") murals by Alexi Torres Alonso and a German-manufactured model-railroad that circles the restaurant.
