Last week, while staying at the Embassy Suites, My wife and I took the two minute walk to Der Biergarten. That was a great decision. Der Bier Garten is decorated and painted like it's on a side street in Heidelberg. The restaurant is huge with...More

We ate here while at the boat show in Atlanta. The wait staff was stretched thin and this place must be a fairly popular choice during the weekend evenings. We found the staff to be very helpful and did their best to serve. The bartender...More

Der Biergarten is a German Restaurant about 2 blocks from the Georgia Aquarium and one block from the Olympic Park. The restaurant has two rooms; one configured like a sports bar and the other more like a traditional German Biergarten. In the warm season, there...More

Really good and authentic German food. The Gurkensalat was my favorite! All kinds of traditional German dishes paired with a wide variety of awesome beers. The music was amazing! German pop and rap. Not that usual Humba Band stuff. Great server and bartender as well!

Was here in the fall for a college football game watching on their many TV'S. Had several appetizers which were outstanding and a super good beer selection. I was with a very large group and those who had actual meals said they loved the food.

Do not come here for the food. They get two stars for the ambiance, drinks were good, but I wouldn’t be lying if I said that the food was far less than satisfying. I had the goulache (sp??) and while the taste was just okay,...More

We were in town for a quick getaway weekend and chose Der Biergarten over the run-of-the-mill sports bars/brass and fern restaurants around the Georgia Aquarium. We couldn't have made a better choice. Our server David was a delight: genuine, professional, possessed a great understanding of...More

Right around the corner from the CNN center, we were walking to the car and decided the traffic could wait. Had a litre of German beer and a real pretzel. I am sure the food was good also, but we couldn't linger any longer.

Opening just in time for Oktoberfest 2010, Der Biergarten gives Atlanta residents and visitors a true taste of German culture. Located Downtown within the Luckie Marietta District, Der Biergarten fills a citywide void of beer gardens and authentic German fare while providing world-class service in a festive, traditional atmosphere. Co-owner Wolfgang Hartert, a local resident and native of Germany, provided much of the inspiration for Der Biergarten. As he says, “Atlanta needs a restaurant like Der Biergarten. The significant German population and business community in Atlanta is begging for an authentic dining experience. I know that Der Biergarten will provide Europeans, just like me, a place to share the rich heritage of Germany with American friends.” Der Biergarten is made up of an elegant white tablecloth dining room, an alley with Fussball and table shuffleboard, and, of course, the indoor/outdoor beer garden. With traditional family style seating -a la Munich- and multiple flat-screen TVs, the beer garden is the best place for watching European or American football! Enjoy our authentic German cuisine while being surrounded by Bavarian décor, such as the hand-painted trompe l'oeil ("illusionistic") murals by Alexi Torres Alonso and a German-manufactured model-railroad that circles the restaurant.
