My husband and I wanted to grab a beer and dinner while in downtown Atlanta. We love traditional Biergartens in Germany so thought we would give this one a try. The atmosphere was definitely Americanized but still a fun Biergarten feel and they had a...More

Eight of us showed up for a reservation at 8 PM looking for a good German meal. We all started off with large liters of beer. A huge selection. For a starter we ordered a pretzel to share. It was large enough for all 8...More

Research says noisy restaurants sell more liquor. Perhaps that is the reason behind the apparent push to make it all beerhall now. The nice, typical German restaurant that used to live inside is mostly gone. Nice tables with tablecloths and chairs are being replaced by...More

I visited Der Biergarten for a corporate event. It was nice. I'm not much of a beer drinker but they had a good wine selection. They also had a variety of food options which was nice. The outdoor deck was cute and enjoyable to hang...More

If you are looking for a large restaurant similar to the Biergartens in Bavaria then this one of the best in Atlanta. Even though prices are high you get a Biergarten, German beer on tap, 1 litre glasses of beer and even the Bavarian favorite...More

Went to dinner there on our trip to Atlanta. We both like German food. Had the weinersnitzel and jagersnitzel both were good but I’m used to my German potato salad being warm.

No joke this is a place that offers great German food. I had the Viener Schnitzel and it was great. Son had the Wurst place. All good and a variety of beers to choose from.

A fun place to spend time with new friends & colleagues after a long day doing work stuff. This location is very close to the larger attractions that Atlanta is known for — Centennial Olympic Park, Coke, Aquarium, CNN etc. Nestled in a renovated warehouse...More

I stopped in after a long business conference because of the relaxed look of the place. The service was top notch. I also asked for an extra plate & fork for my leftovers to take back to the hotel. They went above and beyond for...More

Had schnitzel and Bad mistake. Potato salad very acidic. Spatzle tasted like flour and overloaded with cheese. The appetizer of cured meats looked interesting but didn't order.

I can't answer for the restaurant about their food choice decisions. However, we have always enjoyed our meals here and have been full enough that we don't need fries....German or otherwise. I don't think you would be... More

Opening just in time for Oktoberfest 2010, Der Biergarten gives Atlanta residents and visitors a true taste of German culture. Located Downtown within the Luckie Marietta District, Der Biergarten fills a citywide void of beer gardens and authentic German fare while providing world-class service in a festive, traditional atmosphere. Co-owner Wolfgang Hartert, a local resident and native of Germany, provided much of the inspiration for Der Biergarten. As he says, “Atlanta needs a restaurant like Der Biergarten. The significant German population and business community in Atlanta is begging for an authentic dining experience. I know that Der Biergarten will provide Europeans, just like me, a place to share the rich heritage of Germany with American friends.” Der Biergarten is made up of an elegant white tablecloth dining room, an alley with Fussball and table shuffleboard, and, of course, the indoor/outdoor beer garden. With traditional family style seating -a la Munich- and multiple flat-screen TVs, the beer garden is the best place for watching European or American football! Enjoy our authentic German cuisine while being surrounded by Bavarian décor, such as the hand-painted trompe l'oeil ("illusionistic") murals by Alexi Torres Alonso and a German-manufactured model-railroad that circles the restaurant.
