I travel through Atlanta less frequently now, but always looks forward to lunch at Mary Mac's. But $11.95 for a vegetable plate and $2.95 for sweet tea is a bit over the top.

In our short week vacation in Atlanta, we were able to go to this restaurant twice (the only repeated one). Food and service were great. Our waitress was very nice and polite. The southern cooking really hit the spot for me! Highly recommend it!

One MUST listen to the history of this place before tasting its delicious food. The waiters are steeped in tradition and anecdotes which makes this place as much an entertainment venue as a culinary destination. The food is excellent too, with southern flavors popping in the mouth and, of course, finishing with melting one's tongue in sugar and spices (I... More

I honestly didn't like it too much. the fried green tomatoes were definitely good and the cinnamon rolls. thats about all that was good. everything else was average. collard greens were extremely bitter, sweet potato souffle was nauseatingly sweet (and I have a sweet tooth) and the chicken taste was okay. it was just nice and crisp, that's about it.... I was looking for suggestions and my Uber driver suggested Mary Mac's Tea Room if I wanted to experience excellent southern cuisine. I can tell you this place was awesome! From the tastefully appointed dining rooms, friendly staff who will make you feel like one of the family as soon as you walk in. I ordered friend green tomatoes, crackling... More

Went as part of a group for dinner, organised by the company. Was looking forward to this as I had heard it was famous and authentic. What a disappointment. Sloppy, mass produced, overly sweet, slapped on plates with no care. This is an old, tired place with dreadful food and poor service. If I lived in Atlanta this would be... More

The menu is overwhelming. They have combinations offerred, but an extensive entree menu. Each entree is served with your choice of two sides, and that list is long. There were two of us and my partner ordered grilled trout, which she loved. Her sides were Brunswick stew and fried green tomatoes. Both of her sides were fantastic. I chose the... More

They had great classic southern comfort food! We tried the chicken fried chicken. It was really tender chicken with a great crispy fried outside. So that with the gravy was super good and it was nice to get that kind of comfort food. It is bit pricey, but we went there unplanned and were a bit surprised with the prices.... More

We decided to visit Mary Mac’s after seeing the restaurant featured on a Food Network show which mentioned it had all types of traditional Southern food. The wait for 2 on a Saturday night was about 40 minutes, whereas there was no wait for a table on a week night for dinner. Appetizer: pimento cheese; was smooth and creamy Entrée:... More
