We spent a Thursday in Frederick and stumbled on Firestone's. even at 1pm on a Thursday there was a 45 minute wait. It was well worth it. The food is fairly priced for what you get and the selections are unique and delicious. The service was above average and the staff are knowledgeable. If you are in the area I... More

We stopped in for lunch at 11:30 before the downtown shopping started.... had to sit in the bar... best to make a reservation. The hot pastrami sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. The combination with the truffle fries was perfect. Small but great selection of regional beers finished the experience. My wife had the pulled pork... More

One of my favorite places to eat in Frederick. The food is delicious and I love that they have kept the historical "flavor" of the restaurant. I am not a salad eater, but I will eat their salads. The strawberry summer salad is my favorite. Portions are generous and the service was prompt and friendly. Can't go wrong here.

We had reservations for 4 people at 12:00 on a busy Saturday. We were seated immediately, very nice ambiance, by the window overlooking the street watching all the people happily shopping. We all ordered the French Onion soup which was amazing and delicious. I opted for the Salmon Salad which also was very good! The Monte Cristo was quite packed... More

The oyster sandwich that I had for lunch combined with the little zucchini salad was incredibly amazing and I wish I could try it again. Unfortunately, the very next week when I went to order it, they had severely downsized it while keeping the price the same. Still, a great lunch experience with very attentive service. One of downtown's best.... More

Great and friendly service even though it was a very busy Saturday lunchtime. Food came quickly too. Our dining companion had booked us a window seat on the 1st floor so if you get the chance try and book one too as it adds to the experience. Well worth a visit.

We went there for a dinner and we love the food. Portion are not huge as it is more a fine restaurant but the quality of their product is excellent. Very good service.

We came in for a late lunch during the work week. Our server was wonderful, the view from the second floor window was perfect. Great ambience. The food was good, the chicken breast served sliced on the salad entree was dry. Otherwise, the food was very good. I always love coming here and sitting in this area, or at the... More

We usually like to sit at the bar. Bartenders are friendly & knowledgeable, most have been there for several years. The bar menu has some of the best burgers in town and their pizza is great too. Their onion rings are like tasty donut like dessert with the sweet breaking. You must try them.

Went with my family for dinner on a busy Saturday. We were seated on the upper floor. Food was delicious and restaurant is decorated nicely in an upscale tavern style. My only complaint was the restaurant was extremely noisy. We had to talk loudly to have a conversation at the table. We had the hangar steak, amish pumpkin gnocchi, scallop... More

Description
Firestone's Culinary Tavern, opened in 1999, is located in downtown Frederick's picturesque Historic District. It is housed in a 1921 building that was initially the home of Shipley's Department Store. The restaurant combines outstanding cuisine with the casual atmosphere of a neighborhood tavern. The Washington Post says, "the atmosphere is prime...the food is, too!".
