We used to go to this restaurant a good number of times but due to circumstances I hadn't been for a number of years (although my wife had been a couple of times in the last 2 years). We took our son and his girlfriend...More

The atmosphere in this restaurant is lovely and relaxing. Calm and relaxing. The staff are attentive and very friendly but not over the top, very helpful and know their menu and wine list well. The food is perfectly cooked to a high standard. I would...More

Quite disappointed. After seeing it was number 1 on Trip Advisor thought it would be worth a visit. However everything on the menu is strange, there was nothing that me or my Husband really fancied as it was all ruined by odd fitting accompaniments. We...More

Booked lunchtime on Valentine's Day. In the evening I think there was a V. Day special menu but very happy with the 'everyday' menu. The hake was beautifully cooked and the dauphinoise potatoes had a terrific flavour and I'm still struggling to recognise what made...More

A family party was arranged at short notice having been let down by the original venue. We came to The Lemon Tree two years ago so we decided to return. The food was excellent as was the service and the car park was a godsend...More

Prior to this years years visit (Xmas Eve 2017) we had always had a lovely experience, with great food and a nice cosy atmosphere. However, this year, gone was the set menu, and this was replaced by an al a carte selection which was far...More

Booked Lunch at the Lemon Tree for a pre-Christmas visit to my mother-in-law, taking a family of 5 aged between 4 and 80-something. Menu choice was good, and we ordered a selection of 'nibbles' to see us through as we didn't want starters. Great food...More

The food was very nice (evening meal) but it is not good enough to dress, in this case, young ladies, in black and call them waitresses. They have to be trained properly, especially with the prices you charge. Teach them how to open wine, then...More

Food was scrummy. Had the roast turkey and strudel for pudding. Yummiest turkey I’ve had. Veggies cooked perfectly with a slight crunch. Good selection on the menu too. Tables nicely spaced out so you can’t overhear other tables conversations. Lovey Christmas atmosphere. Service was good....More

The Lemon Tree restaurant, just a few steps from the heart of Bishops Stortford is a Hertfordshire favourite. Set in an elegant Grade II listed Georgian terrace, The Lemon Tree is a lively, relaxed eatery, created entirely by executive chef Luke Fishpool and his front of house wife Sue. The dining room makes the most of its historic setting, with beamed walls and ceilings, exposed brick fireplace, wooden floors and uncluttered wood tables and seating. The well thought out modern British menu features the freshest quality ingredients and global influences, and Sunday lunch includes a proper British roast. Interesting, affordable wine list and parking nearby that ticks every box.
