Ate here on two occasions staying nearby. Some of the other reviews might lead you to expect the food here is a bit special. Not sure that's true.Solid pub grub rather than a gourmet sensation but there's nothing wrong with that. Steak was great quality....More

Matt You are largely spot on - we are aiming for something for everyone and we are not aiming for gourmet or gastro - just good freshly prepared food. Just a word to the reader though, you state we don’t provide real ales, in fact...More

Eat with the in laws here on Friday night, found the pub to be very welcoming, roaring fire to sit by. The menu was broad enough for us all to choose happily, the kids loved the giant hot dogs and fries, hubby happy with his...More

The sign outside was every welcoming stating that everyone was welcome including muddy boots and cheeky children, HOWEVER 11 of us friendly faces entered to enjoy a few drinks and food when we were RUDELY shunned away as we hadn’t booked. The pub was empty....More

I am sorry for what appears to be a misunderstanding, It was absolutely not anyone’s attention to appear to be rude to you. We could not accommodate your group because you had not booked, it was a glorious sunny day and our large rear garden...More

Ate there two nights whilst staying nearby. Friendly staff, and one of the best lasagne i’ve Ever tasted. Pie was delicious too. I’ll be eating there again when I next visit.

Proper pub, proper beer and genuinely the best cooked Rib Eye Steak I have ever eaten & I have probably eaten too many - the kids also enjoyed the burgers and hotdogs. Nice sunny beer garden out the back also.

The Plough Country Inn is a traditional country pub with restaurant and rooms, freshly prepared food, local meats and well sourced foods. We are popular with locals and tourists, families welcome, dog friendly, we welcome groups of walkers / cyclists. It is probably best to book at weekends.
