Staggered to see the poor reviews! This is a great cafe/restaurant and we all enjoyed a great meal - some snacked while some of us attacked spag bol and risottos! Great food at a great price with great service - nothing snotty or high class - honest to goodness grub! Why only four stars then? - could do with a... More

Popped in here on a Sunday morning. Staff pleasant and courteous. Coffee tasty and hot. Down side...cakes not always the freshest. Cafe clean and easy parking with great views over the channel

Don't often get to spend lunch together as we both work. Decided to treat ourselves so headed to Cioni's on clifftop. Husband chose a hot snack from menu, I decided on a plate of chips - also on menu at £2.50. Was informed I couldn't have 'just chips' as chips can only be sold as an 'extra' (??). As husband... Although each of the world’s countries would like to dispute this fact, we Welsh know the truth; the best food in the World is made in Wales. The best food in Wales is made in Penarth, and the best food in Penarth, some say, is served by a lovely young lady.. However... The chips were frozen, the coke was flat,... More

Overlooking the sea at Penarth this restaurant is dismal, grubby, and rooted in some far off time when customers didn't really matter. Its position makes it a 'popular' place for a coffee and it has a captive audience. I visited with my family and found the food just edible, the service offhand and the toilet facilities grim. Will be taking... More

I am saddened by the gentrification of the rest of Penarth. It's refreshing to go somewhere that is so resilient to the modern business practices of good customer service and a good menu

I had ordered a cup of tea but found I had not the full price in my handbag as left purse at home, Walking with 2 sticks post op-- staff helped to carry my tea to the table, and when my family came in after a bracing walk they enjoyed the mince pie and ice cream chosen.. and sorted my... More

Popped in to get out of the rain, place is quaint and small. Service was standard for a small cafe/restaurant. Food wise not so great, quite expensive for the quality !!! Which was corner supermarket at best, but saying that suprisingly tasty, was served pipping hot which also helped as the weather outside was frightful !!

I wish I had read the reviews before we went. Doesn't look good on the outside but it was the only place to have a coffee in that area that we could find. Inside is no better like being in a time warp from the 1960's and the coffee tasted like it too. we were with family and none of... More
