Samuels Bistro is our go-to restaurant in Goderich when Thyme on 21 is not open, or, as last Saturday, it offered takeout only. As we were staying in Samuels Hotel, it made sense to have our meal cooked in the hotel kitchen and served in...our room. My wife and I both had the seafood fettuccine Alfredo; our son had the duck confit. Everything was just the way it should be.More

We dined at the Garden Room Patio while staying at the hotel. The food was delicious - we had the goat's cheese berry salad, seafood fettuccine and the peri peri chicken. We also tried their house made sticky toffee with some local apple cider, boy...that was amazing!More

We hadn't eaten at Samuels before, but with everything closed we decided to try it for take-away. We ordered 4 meals of the pistachio turkey schnitzel, which was an excellent price for a family of four. One of us was gluten-free, and the meal came...with the schnitzel and dessert gluten-free at no extra charge. All of us found the entrees, sides and desserts excellent and we would certainly recommend it as well as return (we are planning to order the fish tacos...). Great food!More

Choices were a bit limited but quality was good. Good crabcakes. Local vegetables were good but everything a bit overpriced.

We don’t get to Goderich as often as we used to, and when we do get there we usually end up dining at Thyme on 21, our go-to restaurant since the tornado destroyed Bailey’s on the Square. Thyme on 21 being closed on Mondays, a...friends took us to Samuel’s. We liked it a lot in 2016; we like it even better now. Like Thyme on 21, the bistro uses local and imported resources imaginatively. My cream of celery soup was just right; my seafood fettuccine was excellent. The other two members of our party shared the Mediterranean platter as an appetizer. Our friend had the salmon as her main dish; my wife had the Panko fried turkey. Both were very pleased. We’ll come again.More

We were passing through Goderich and decided to have dinner in town before heading home. My girlfriend mentioned she enjoyed Samuels Bistro so we decided to give it a try. We sat by the window looking over the river and garden, the atmosphere was romantic...yet cozy and laid back. The food was flavourful and well presented. I had the salmon and my husband had the beef ribs which we really enjoyed. We are looking forward to dining at Samuels Bistro again!More

My girlfriend and I visited Goderich for the very first time over the weekend. We found Samuel's Bistro online as it had great reviews, and immediately thought it was a unique setting - in an old school house on the river. We decided to give...it a try. What a lovely experience! The server was very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was quant and cozy and the food was delicious! We had the Cassis Duck and the Turkey Schnitzel and we were impressed. Did I mention that they have half priced wine on Fridays!?More

We arrived in Goderich July 19th as part of a family reunion and stayed at an AirBnB just up the road from the Samuel's bistro/hotel. Well, we started to have a few drinks to catch up on affairs and thought it prudent to dine within...walking distance and that we did. The bistro is nicely appointed and the service was attentive, but the food was 'uneventful' at best. Smoked Pork and Pear: sounds delicious, but where the heck is the pear apart from the tiny splices on top of the chop. Also, very salty. Cassis Duck: super sweet and drowning in sauce......what about the 'reduction' part on the menu? Pistachio Turkey Schnitzel: Probably something you could buy at Costco and nuke it. Next time we won't start drinking before dinner and try some of the local cuisine in town.More

We come to the area for a weekend each summer and often eat here because we have had excellent meals . I usually enjoy the seafood pasta but was a little disappointed this time. It didn’t have enough content for the price charged.More

We enjoyed our food. It was hot. Flavorful. Delightful presentation. The service: the gentleman who served us was lovely. But he is not a server. Clearly obvious... And detrimental to the thought of going back... It was also clear that staff was short. I have...always loved going to Samuels and wish the new owners the best! It's just not the same... Check your service please. Makes a huge difference! I submit respectfully...More
