My first time dine. I ordered the chowder and it was excellent. I ordered a salad and I wish I had the dressing on the side (too much). I wanted to try the mussels. They were not large and where in a sauce with way too much butter for me. Even though my experience didn't meet my expectations, I will... More

I stopped by this place on a regular basis to get some catfish to go and a bowl of clam chowder. It was recommended to me by a local when I first got up here for work. He was not wrong. The advice I was given is two Coronas and an order a catfish nuggets and you're good to go.... More

Went with 2 others, tried something grilled, something fried and something deep fried. The batter was not very good, the seafood did not taste fresh either. Their chowder was weak. Service was about that of steak n shake. Not recommended. Not worth the price. I was really disappointed as every time I drive by there it always looks packed so... More

I was very disappointed in our meal. The catfish was over battered, too large, and mushy. The hush puppies almost unedible, they were very dense strong, strong onion odor. I like onion in hush puppies but must have used onion powder and chopped onions extremely strong. Out of a dozen shrimp, four were fresh the other ones were tough and strong. It... More

We're not from the south but I expect this place is pretty authentic. There was a line which is usually a good sign but it moved quickly plus there was a bar entrance on the side to get a drink while you wait. Our waiter was nice and the food was good. It's one of the nicer places we saw... More

Previously I have given rave reviews. Thought I continued to enjoy the food, tonight's problems deserve a review. I can't review the food...I never got any. We met our friends there. I arrived at 7:00, got an outside table (wait on yourself), went to place my drink order. I was in line to order for 28 minutes. "Frank" got to... More

The Crab Soup Was great. The fried calamari was fresh and cooked well, the ceasar salads were fresh but alot of dressing in the bottom and lots of Parmesan Cheese, the scallops three of the four were under cooked. They replaced the scallops and one of the four was under cooked. The beans were okay. The sweet peas were more... More

Went to Jim Shaw's with a friend on a recommendation from another friend & former coworker who spent a lot of time in Macon. I was not disappointed & neither was my friend. I got the blackened sea bass with squash, salad & hush puppies. My friend got the blackened mahi-mahi, Caesar salad, hush puppies & another side I don't... More

Nice family type restaurant that offers fresh fish and seafood. My husband and I had the fried oysters and catfish and both were great. The sweet tea was also good.

I am from South Georgia and the gulf coast is only an hour and a half drive. I like seafood and since relocating to central Georgia finding good seafood is a bit of a chore. I like Jim Shaw and particularly the Grouper. The sides are good, cheese grits and hush puppies. The wait staff is attentive and dedicated. Portions... More
