Had an airport drop off & figured we'd likely find someplace in Salt Lake open on Sunday & a holiday. We scored with PAC. staff is alert, funny & attentive. Tried the hotcakes - sweeter batter, and fluffy & tasty. Huge portions that could easily be shared. The menu is overwhelming with omelets & their own combos. Tried the penny... More

A very good meal with excellent service. We met family here for breakfast based in TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Although we were a large party, they accommodated us following a reasonable wait. The meal was, well, Fantastic! Highly recommend the 'Pot of Gold' plate which was plentiful and delicious. The "Heavenly Hot Cakes" were in fact heavenly... More

Wow!! Read about the heavenly hot cakes and I love hot cakes. They were some of the best I've ever had. The pork verde with eggs and potatoes was great too. But the best thing may have been the coconut, cashew, white chocolate chip pie. Wow!

Great service. I tried a bite of the Pot of gold. It was amazing and a lot of food. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich and salad.

It's 10 am on a Friday morning. I would expect a crowd, but it's packed. This is for a reason. Great little cafe with a traditional country breakfast.

Our first meal came out ice cold, my first bite was so bad I wanted to spit it out. They reheated it in the microwave to the point that the gravy was boiling ruining the food. The service was good but the Kitchen staff terrible.....................

There are cuter places and more unique places, but for amazing, reliable, old-fashioned breakfast I always choose Penny Ann's. I've been several times and have never been disappointed by my choice from the menu. Service is always fantastic, always attentive but never pushy or crowding. These people work hard and produce a great product! Would love to see a location... More

Stopped in with a friend one hungry Sunday morning before the games started and was pleasantly surprised. Outdoor seating on the cool morning made it even more nice. The menu is large enough to give a lot of good options without being overwhelming, service was great, food was amazing and I didn't have to sell my car to pay the... More

This neighborhood diner style breakfast and brunch place is bustling with nearby families coming in for omelettes, pancakes and their famous hot cakes. Portions huge, prices generous and service is friendly. It is not the fastest place to get your breakfast but they make things from scratch and with love. It's possible for health conscious patrons to eat here if... More

I had a great breakfast at Penny Ann's Cafe. The scrambled eggs were cooked just the way I like them (could have used a bit of salt though). The potato side were tasty and crispy. Penny Ann's is known for the "Heavenly Pancakes". I agree. The pancakes are heavenly. The service was fast and friendly. Penny Ann's also has a... More

Description
Winner Best of State Best Breakfast, Penny Ann's Cafe is a family affair. The restaurant's namesake, Penny Ann, and her sister, Cindy, can often be found seating patrons, serving tables or chatting pleasantly with the restaurant's regular customers. Penny's brother Warren is the executive Chef and brother Paul is behind the scenes helping with day to day operations. Wayne and Jane, the parents of the bunch, can often be seen around too helping with all aspects of the business. There are also many nieces and nephews who help cook, prep, serve and bus tables as well as the outstanding staff who feel like family. Originally from upstate New York, the Willey family prides itself on creating the east coast diner family atmosphere where guests can feel comfortable, and relax while they indulge in homemade comfort food. Not only is the atmosphere comfortable and inviting, the food is top notch. For the second year in a row, Penny Ann's Café was the winner of the Best of State award for Best Breakfast. They are known as the Home of the "Heavenly Hot Cakes", and the pancakes are a fantastic place to start when trying to decide on something from the menu. heavenly-hot-cakesHead chef Warren Willey has been a chef for many years, and his experience translates into his down-home cooking. Originally from New York, Warren was a chef there before coming to Utah. After the move, he was a chef at Park City's Westgate Grill for 10 years before the family decided to open Penny Ann's. In June of 2011, Penny Ann's opened its doors in downtown Salt Lake City, and had almost instant popularity. After three years in the downtown site, the family decided to open another location and opened in Draper in December of 2014 and are looking at future expansion in the coming months and years.
