Don’t let this one fool you. The food was really good. A friend and myself ordered the fish platter. It was all good. Hush puppies had a bit of a kick. Green beans were also good. Stop in.

We had heard about their smoked ribs so decided to stop and get a slab to take home. We ended up staying and instead of ribs we shared a smoked pork steak. We each got two sides and a roll. Friendly locals place. Buy your groceries and have lunch in the same place. We had a good pancake breakfast and saw some attractive lunch offerings. The smoked pork steak looked amazing. So much good food, so little time.

We stopped here only because we didn't want fast food for breakfast. Boy!~ we were thrilled with the farm fresh eggs, bacon or sausage, homemade biscuits with gravy, etc. The prices are very reasonable too and it is obviously a local hangout with friendly folks.

Got to arop here for lunch or breakfast. Great portions and the food is true down home cooking. Love this place

Smalley's has been a staple in Van Buren for many years, it just gets better and better! It's ALWAYS busy from breakfast through the evening. You can get hot food and find a table and eat in or take out. They have great fresh fried...chicken to get and take to the river or on a picnic. They also have HUGE barbeque pork steaks that are really, really good. On the other side is a complete liquor selection, with the convenience items in between. The service is always cheerful and quick. There is usually a few local "elders" sitting out front watching the comings and goings....true small town style! Love Smalley's and SO glad they survived the Great Flood!More

Ate here twice in 2 days! Fried chicken meal was delicious, especially the mashed potatoes with white gravy.

Although it's labelled as a convenience store, it's more of a gas station-style restaurant with bbq and fried foods. The fried chicken was excellent. Great place if you want hardy food quickly. Friendly folks made the experience even better.

We try and stop in Smalley's for a meal or snack every time we pass thru Van Buren. They have great breakfasts with biscuits and gravy. The owner is always there and makes sure all his customers and happy! Great place to grab food for...your float trip also!More

I have gotten food from Smalley's several times and it is always good, hot, and reasonably priced. Always several customer's but have never had to wait very long. The staff are friendly and seem glad to see you.

I was passing through Van Buren earlier this week to pay the town a visit (I hadn't been there since the May 2017 flood). It was sad to see so much damage to the town, but it was uplifting to see that Smalley's was in...business. I ordered a ham and cheese from the counter and it hit the spot. And the prices are very reasonable. I recommend you support local businesses like Smalley's as the town recovers.More

So glad they survived the awful flood this Spring. Not a lot of food choices currently available in VB - but this is definitely a GOOD one! They have made to order breakfast as well as breakfast sandwiched and doughnuts. They have Pizza, plate lunches...and several hot foods to choose from. They are also a Convenience store, so they have just about anything you could possibly need and are located smack dab in the middle of town. Owner and (most of) they crew is VERY friendly! Been going there for years and will be back as soon as we can!!More
