My daughter lives in ABQ and this has become my favorite place to go when I visit her. They have good margaritas and lots of tequilas to choose from. Also, salsa with a kick and great nachos (the small is plenty big enough for 4!). But, their enchilada casserole is one of the best dishes I have ever had. That's... More

The decor of El Patron sets it apart from most other restaurants with a vaulted ceiling and a balcony for live music. The service was friendly and efficient and the dishes were beautifully presented, flavorful and quite tasty. I had my burrito served with both red and green chili sauce -- the red was pretty hot; it left my mouth... More

Great experience. Excellent place for great Mexican food. I really enjoyed my fajitas, while the nachos served with salsa and guacamole were fresh and tasty. The waiter was competent and very friendly. The Mexican singer (and guitar player) would have been a nice romantic tool (if only I was with my wife, instead of being there for an official dinner).... Went with a group so got to see several dishes. All were quite good. Seemed more Mexican than New Mexican food.

We had a lovely birthday dinner with over 20 people. It was so well received by the staff. They were great and even let us bring in our own cake. They brought us plates, forks, and a cutting knife. It made the evening so much fun! The food here is the BEST in Albuquerque. Maybe in all of New Mexico.... More

Great atmosphere, wonderful food. Service was great. Salsa was perfect, spicey. Large food portions, reasonable prices. Guy singing and playing music walking around the tables. Has outdoor dining also.

I had dinner with 2 friends on Sunday (the 16th of October) evening. Normally, this is one of my favorite places to eat. As usual the food was very good as was the service. What was distracting, however, was the music. A singer who played the guitar from a balcony, was too loud. I enjoy talking with friends when I... More

The visit to El Patron was a little disappointing. The atmosphere, service, and drinks were absolutely wonderful, but the food was just average. There was live music and the decor was very timely and engaging. Our drinks - my husband order a mule and I a margarita - were great! Our food, though, was not really anything than typical of... El Patron is consistently excellent. The food is great with generous portions and the service is excellent. They have great margaritas, and mariachis playing music during the dinner hour in the formal dining room. They also have a cocktail lounge with a jazz or dance band on most nights. The round bar has sports TVs. This is a great place.
