We hadn't planned to go to El Patron, but so glad we did. We beat the dinner rush just a bit so we given a table right away. The first thing you notice is the great decor and the great music from the mariachi two-some. Close your eyes and you're in Mexico. After a margarita and appetizer we chose the... More

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary and went out to dinner at El Patron. It was my wife's request because she loves the green chili chicken lasagna. I choose the steak tacos and they did not disappoint. During our dining experience they had a mariachi performing which made it that much better. I highly recommend El Patron, you... More

We went to El Patron as part of a large (15) person family group. We had reservations for 6:30 and were seated close to that time. So far so good. We were put in a back room where we had privacy, a nice touch. Unfortunately after 2 hours of waiting for our meals and our single waiter who was also... More

The wait staff was very friendly, prompt and although a Friday night seemed unrushed. The restaurant has adequate parking and is easy to find. It is clean and has good atmosphere. I would say the food is average to slightly above average New Mexican.

My daughter lives in ABQ and this has become my favorite place to go when I visit her. They have good margaritas and lots of tequilas to choose from. Also, salsa with a kick and great nachos (the small is plenty big enough for 4!). But, their enchilada casserole is one of the best dishes I have ever had. That's... More

The decor of El Patron sets it apart from most other restaurants with a vaulted ceiling and a balcony for live music. The service was friendly and efficient and the dishes were beautifully presented, flavorful and quite tasty. I had my burrito served with both red and green chili sauce -- the red was pretty hot; it left my mouth... More

Great experience. Excellent place for great Mexican food. I really enjoyed my fajitas, while the nachos served with salsa and guacamole were fresh and tasty. The waiter was competent and very friendly. The Mexican singer (and guitar player) would have been a nice romantic tool (if only I was with my wife, instead of being there for an official dinner).... Went with a group so got to see several dishes. All were quite good. Seemed more Mexican than New Mexican food.

We had a lovely birthday dinner with over 20 people. It was so well received by the staff. They were great and even let us bring in our own cake. They brought us plates, forks, and a cutting knife. It made the evening so much fun! The food here is the BEST in Albuquerque. Maybe in all of New Mexico.... More

Great atmosphere, wonderful food. Service was great. Salsa was perfect, spicey. Large food portions, reasonable prices. Guy singing and playing music walking around the tables. Has outdoor dining also.
