You can always depend on China City to serve up tasty steady food. Food is standard Cantonese fair, is not very exciting, but portions are generous and the food always fresh. The hot and sour soup is the best in town, densely packed with all sorts of goodies. Service is fast and always polite. Prices are very reasonable.

At least the soup was good. I had hot & sour soup and there were julienned fresh veggies, pork and tofu, it was good. My husband had won ton soup and it was good as well. The entrees, not so much. The Mongolian Beef had huge (finger sized) pieces of zucchini, large pieces of carrot, onion, etc. The beef was... More

This is by far one of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. I ordered three items plus rice and none of them had any special flavor to them as I compared them to many other Chinese places I have been to in U.S and abroad. The food (Chicken) was not fresh and had a rough smell and taste.... The service was very good but the food was typical gloppy, no flavor, overcooked vegetables and questionable meats. The spring rolls were the only thing that was good. The egg drop soup was bland and gooey. The rice was ok but nothing special. I am thoroughly convinced I will never try Chinese food again. Good Thai is flavorful without being... More

First off, this is not a buffet style Chinese restaurant. It is a made to order, by the plate place. I found this restaurant by accident. I was down at the VA Medical center, and had to go to the Northside medical. So a straight trip up San Mateo. I had seen the listing on Yahoo, so figured since it... More

I wouldn't have stopped here but for the plethora of great reviews. This little place appears to be run by a family of women and the food is comforting and custom. They will make what you want the way you want it. My Chicken Chop Suey was tasty and there was so much of it I ate it for breakfast... More

I've written a review about China City before - but want to say we go back quite often. The waitress remembers what we like - except I keep changing what I like! They make the food to order so that I don't have to have the zucchini and baby corn that I don't like and have them add the water... More

My wife and I have eaten at China City numerous times. Service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The kind owner often comes around to say hello and makes you feel right at home. Food is standard Cantonese and is always well prepared. My wife's favorite is chicken with shrimp and my fav. is the special beef.... More

This restaurant has the best food ever.I love their ribs and the wonton soup and many other dishes that I have tried. The owner remembered us from the last time we were here and came out with some complimentary fried wontons that were amazing. The food and the staff are great. Very enjoyable.

We found this place in April 2012 and really enjoyed our lunch. It was about as good as anything I got in Chinatown in NYC. We went back the next day and the owner recognized us and chatted. When she found out that we'd driven 35 miles just to come back for dinner she gave me a baggie of almond... More
