I love this place. THE BEST authentic Mexican take-out place around. Fantastic green chile brisket burritos. The carnitas burrito and tamales are great as well. For non-meat eaters the tostada is a meal in itself. Sopapillas are heavenly. Service is fast. Beautiful young lady who took my order was smiling and very friendly. I can't wait to return. Don't miss... More

Stopped in here after over fifty years 1964. Last time I came in with my friend Dale. Was in town for his funeral service. Then I went into the Army, never came back. Had a breakfast burrito was excellent. A very popular eatery.

The food here is magnificent! The green chile chicken tamales are the best anywhere...soooo very yummy! Only seating ops are picnic tables in the parking lot & you'll likely have to wait a spell for your order, but be patient & get it to go as you will be so thankful that you did. Anything you order is a delicious... More

Whether you're eating solo, or getting a large order for your family, El Modelo makes delicious food in mass quantities, but can still dial in awesome single servings. Hands down, the best deal in NM.

I can't give this place enough praise, the BEST meatiest closest to home tamales & sopaipillas in the SW! They're open 7am to 7pm every day. $29 per dozen fresh or frozen tamales or $2.50 ea plain/$4.55 ea smothered. Everything I've tried here is good!

Wow! What a find for quality/ no frills authentic cuisine! No dining in, but weather permitted patio dining. Everything was excellent in the sampler platter, including my favorite sopapillas! This is a must stop on every trip to ABQ!

We got a tip from the rental car place about this restaurant. This is a take out only place. It was very busy the whole time we were there too with almost all locals. They do have picnic tables on the side if you want to stay there and eat. I had the Carnitas Burrito and the red chili sauce... More
