I can't believe I never reviewed this. We were talking about this longingly last week .The service, the carne adovada. Everything. Can't wait to go back. Believe me I live to go to New Mexico to eat and this is a top place on my list.i order the breakfast that President Obama had and I feel so happy

hands down in Urban Dictionary: Used when talking about whether something is easily the best. well Barela's Coffee House is leading the pack. Breakfast or Lunch, you won't be dissapointed. Several things to choose from. Parking can be tricky because its a local HOTSPOT... but well worth it. I can't say I've ever had to wait, you walk in and... More

Our absolute favorite breakfast spot when visiting. Always full of locals. Food is brilliant, red and green chile are both excellent. Have seen some of the same servers for 20+ years. Never disappoints, recommend unconditionally. Enjoy!

Our friends took my husband and I for breakfast at Barelas Coffee House. Oh my gosh am I glad she did. Had the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Ordered the Huevos Rancheros with green sauce and it was to die for. My husband had the pancakes which he loved because they were a little crispy around... More

Barelas Coffee House has been one of the best breakfast and lunch destinations for NM food for years. Since first opening many years ago to this day, they pack the regulars, new comers, local celebrities and politicians alike! Not only is the food authentic, it is delicious and an excellent value (they have the best value in all of NM).... More

We've been to Albuquerque numerous times. This time our daughter in law, who is a native, took us to Barela's for breakfast. The food was delicious, the service excellent, no wonder the locals eat here. Well for sure be back!

We enjoyed breakfast at Barelas. The Huevos deluxe was tasty. I had the Carne Adovada and eggs. The meat was a bit fatty for my taste. Everything needed salt! I enjoyed the posole with green chile very much. The coffee house is very eclectic and rambles on and on..part of its charm.

Other than it has been there for over 70 years, I can't figure out why people eat there. The huevos rancheros were ok....the green chile was soopy. The place is dog-eared but there was a line outside (Saturday) waiting to get in. There is no accounting for taste. I guess people feel the need to belong to "the old New... More

This is as close to home as you're gonna get dinning out. We have never been disappointed at Barelas. Doesn't matter what you order-it's all excellent. From the huevos rancheros to the side of chicharones. The carne adovada is tenderly cooked to perfection in that red chile. So good. You can even order the carne adovada without chile(gasp!)and on the... More

Although they serve breakfast and lunch, breakfast is our favorite. Weekends are always crowded and loud, weekdays somewhat less. Everything we've ever tried on the menu has been just fantastic: tacos, pancakes, you name it. It's been great. Service is fast and friendly. Don't go expecting a quiet little dining experience: Barela's is always packs and loud... but it's worth... More
