Last night we ate here and I highly recommend it! My husband had the elk chops on risotto nd I had a bison burger with no bun. It is covered with blue cheese, crunchy bacon, red onion and pickles! Truly great service too.

Here for my birthday celebration with a small group of 4. Best steak house in Estes Park I have been to and so the reason we went here. Service was professional and the food, steaks and salmon, were impeccable. This is a special place that...has the very best particularly for special events.More
Great food and excellent service. The tenderloin and catfish were excellent. I will definitely return here when I am in Estes Park again.
Service was great and so was atmosphere….food not so much. Dry and overcooked. Definitely not worth the prices.
We were in Estes Park for the wknd...have, ourselves, been in before....Rented a BnB/cabin for the wknd with Brother/Sister in Law....Had Lamb Shank, Lamb Porter House, Steak Oscar and Chix Milanese.....Great Meals.... We've had "Raul" as our Server before......great experience.....
We went for our anniversary dinner. The food and cocktails were delicious! Our server was delightful! We had the elk…we were so looking for this and we were not disappointed. The place is busy so I d recommend making a reservation. Definitely recommend!
Had probably our best meal in Colorado in a week’s vacation here. Busy and popular restaurant, we had a reservation at 7:30 on Saturday. Environment is fun, food was delicious, and reasonably priced.
Dined here on a Saturday night. Had a reservation and was seated promptly. Our server was excellent. I highly recommend the brussel sprout appetizer and the venison tenderloin entree.
The interior had the look of an old hunting lodge with all the requisite stuffed animals on display. The venison tenderloin was terrific, but my elk rib chops didn’t have much taste and the shrimp scampi that came with it was missing the scampi. The...asparagus that came with both dishes wasn’t trimmed of the light colored stems and was stringy as a result. Our server was not schooled in pacing a meal. This seemed to be an issue with many places we dined in Estes Park. Perhaps a reflection of the shortage of wait staff.More
Let me start by saying we went specifically for the game. My husband had great elk here at a different restaurant and has wanted it again ever since. That restaurant is no longer around so we decided to try the Chophouse. We started with the...wild game brats. There were four different meats. It was a nice presentation and but most of the pieces were charred on the outside which made the bison and boar dry. The dipping sauce saved them but I wished they had been cooked more carefully. My husband ordered the elk chops. They had a pretty heavy berry sauce which would have been nice on the side. He said the chops were really fatty and not that great. I wanted trout but since it was blackened decided to do the spaghetti squash with salmon. The spaghetti squash could have used more vegetables mixed in but, it was good otherwise. In fact, I may try to recreate it at home. The salmon was way overcooked and extremely dry. Overall I would give the food a low three. I do want to add that our waiter was very nice. He was attentive without being a bother. He really deserves a five. The place itself was comfortable and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. For the price, we both said we wouldn’t go again.More
My husband and I decided on a whim to have dinner at the Hunters Chop House. We arrived with no reservations at 5 pm. We were seated immediately and was served our meal in a timely manner. The restaurant quickly filled up, so a reservation...would be a plus. The atmosphere was pleasant and casual. My husband ordered the 12 oz Ribeye and I ordered the blackened trout. Both dishes were delicious. We ended our meal with cheese cake for dessert.More
The servers, the food and the experience was excellent! We had Sirloin,Baked potato and salad. Dessert was apple Carmel cheesecake!!
My husband and I went to this restaurant expecting it to be great given the reviews, but neither one of us found it worth the price. The elk was very fatty and the risotto undercooked. The bison was overcooked. Everything had a sauce on it...hiding the terrible flavor. I will not go back. Very disappointedMore
What a great place. We went for dinner on a Sunday night. It was nice out so we sat in the outside dining area. Bone marrow appetizer was delicious. Bison steak was so good. First time trying both. Yum.
We ate dinner at the Hunter’s Chop House in early August. We showed up around 7:00 on a Saturday evening with no reservation. The first thing we noticed was free parking right at the restaurant…they may not sound like much, but parking in Estes Park...is a zoo, often offsite, and almost always costs something. They seemed surprised that we would show up without a reservation but gave us a table in the very back by the bar…good with us and no wait. Our waitress was busy but was attentive and friendly. We have a few cocktails that were good…their version of a Manhattan was great. I had the filet…cooked exactly as I asked…very good. My partner had a pasta dish and liked it too. It was not cheap, but good for resort town finer dining.More
