Stopped in for an early dinner/late lunch before a movie at the Avon, a block away. We had the special Italian Wedding soup, Caesar salad with grilled chicken and a panini with fries along with two glasses o wine. Nicely prepared, good size portions, served hot. All was excellent and the fries were outstanding. Very pleasant service. And we found... More

I was in Providence for a Pre-College program at Brown University. To stray from the bland cafeteria food at the dining hall, my friend and I decided to have lunch one day on Thayer St. Both my friend and I were looking for somewhat healthy food and it seemed that Cafe Paragon had a great selection of salads so we... We were really impressed by this place. He ordered a California burger and I got the Thai Wrap. Super delish. We also ordered the giant $25 margarita for two. We went on a wednesday night around 8 pm. There were only a few other tables in there. Our server was great. I think his name was Oscar. We sat in... More

I hadn't been to Paragon in quite awhile and to my surprise, it kicked it up a notch. The new interior resembles a 1930s NYC nightclub and it's a classy look. The menu is fairly extensive and there were numerous options that looked delicious. I chose the honey mustard chicken and it was excellent. The drink menu also seduced me... More

Service was poor. We ordered a drinks, me their chocolate cake, and I actually got a slice of chocolate cake with my date's Margarita. Date chided me to leave more in tip. Broccoli was frozen in vegetable side. After midnight I woke up as my stomach started those noises and then I was in pain for about half an hour.

I ordered a glass of milk and almost gagged after taking a gulp. It had the strangest smell and taste. Not even sour. My filet mignon steak was served in overlooked slices with wilted (old not cooked) arugula. Truly horrible. The best news was I did not get food poisoning from the milk.

5 for the kitchen staff 3 for the Wait staff 4 my overall rating My husband's family and I went here for Thanksgiving. I have a very severe food allergy; I told the cook who was carving the turkey and he got the chef. Billy (the chef) was very understanding of my allergy, he double-checked the food ingredients, and told... More

I had a casual business lunch at Paragon. It was the perfect place for it. I would recommend it for a cozy lunch, business meeting or just because. Not sure how it is for evening.

if an older man walks up to your table and tells you a lousy old joke it is most likely the great owner of Paragon and a number of other restaurants in the area. His wife tries to stop him but he will never quit. But the jokes may be lousy but the food never is. It is always good with... More

We've been here many times. Lunch today included Veggie Antipasto plate and Bruschetta. These were much larger than we expected. Antipasto was fine although the veggies could have been in smaller pieces. The Bruschetta was average because of the bread. Very thick pieces, totally soggy. My Salmon with rice and bok Choy was pretty good. Her lamb Berger was cooked... More

Description
Café Paragon in Providence was first to open it’s doors in 1994. We started serving our valued guests in a friendly European Bistro/Café style atmosphere with a comfortable 32 seats, full bar, and a limited menu. In 1997 we expanded to create Viva offering a more sophisticated dining experience including Mediterranean Mezes, specialized martinis, and extended bar selections in our comfortable lounge. On weekend nights the restaurant transforms with club music. Over the years we have won several awards in RI Monthly and the Providence Pheonix, among them for Best Burgers, Best Salad and Best Octopus and in addition we have been written up in several publications such as Yankee Magazine Travel, Providence Journal, and Vanity Fair.
