I have eaten Ethiopian food in Washington DC and know how good and tasty this food can be. This was pretty bad. Tasteless. You can have this food not spicey and yet very tasty. It was like eating soft cereal boxes.

I was a little curious about everything how things would be served and so forth. Never been to a restaurant quite like this. Service was pretty good. I let my friend order because I didn't really know what was what. I don't know if I would do this again because I don't like eating with my fingers because it's usually... More

We had heard good things about Zemam's for some time, and we're glad we stopped in. The dining room feels like home, and is warm and inviting. The food and service were wonderful. We had three vegetable entrées with our injera and one meat dish. All were excellent. A colleague ordered the gluten-free injera and it was delicious. I would... More

This is a very cozy, home-style atmosphere with extremely courteous service. The food is ALL very good-- pick literally anything on the menu in any combination and it will be great. Nothing is overly spicy, but the spicy dishes are spicy enough for people who like spicy food.

My daughter and I had never eaten Ethiopian food before and enjoyed our meal. We chose a variety so we could sample meats and veggies. I enjoyed the tea too!

If you like to try new things or are already an aficionado, Zemam's is well worth a visit. What this Ethiopian restaurant lacks in decor, it more than makes up with the quality of the food and the friendliness of the service. In my opinion, this is some of the best food of its kind outside of Africa. I recommend... More

This little restaurant is simply one of the best in Tucson. Located in what was probably one a house on Broadway, the restaurant is in several small rooms. It is casual, with an odd assortment of tables and chairs. The service is beyond friendly, you feel more like a guest in someone's home than a customer in a restaurant. The... More

I have lived in Tucson 18 years and have never eaten here, and today I decided it was time to do so. I could be wrong, but I think the building may have been a house at one time - at least that's how I see the layout of various small rooms where tables are set up. Pretty basic -... More

We ordered the sampler and the spinach dish. Red lentils and brown lentils and cauliflower. It came on an injeera 'lined' platter. Excellent and not oily. Extra injeera bread was also brought to the table. We couldn't finish out food although three of us shared. The owner is sweet and has a good sense of humor.

We love Ethiopian and look for restaurants when we are on vacation. Our son has Celiac and needs gluten free food. We called ahead and they assured us that with advance notice of a few hours they can prepare gluten free injera bread. We had an awesome gluten free meal complete with injera made of 100 percent teff!
