Way back in the '70s there was a fabulous donut shop called Shipley, that made their own donuts and they were fabulous! The Chocolate glazed donuts were thick, oddly shaped and delicious. I've not been to Texas since the 80s, but on a recent visit, I pretty much lived on those fabulous chocolate, glazed wonders that I remembered from my... More

Nothing fancy but the donuts were better than average. Took a chance on the coffee and it wasn't bad either. Easy place to walk to from the larger hotels.

I read the other reviews and don't get their complaints. We are talking donuts here. I'm not a big donut fan unless it's the speciality type however my hotel had nothing to offer and Shipley's was in walking distance. I ordered the Bavarian Cream with chocolate icing. Fresh, flavorful and sweet but light. Next recommended selection for chocolate lovers is... More

This place makes awesome donuts!! we stopped there several times during the week to get twists and cinnamon twists. The coffee is not great. They are open 5:30am till 11am. Get there early to get the best selection!

primarily take out with great greasy, gooey donuts, usually a line of locals waiting for the cream and fruit filled choices plus fry cakes..DELICIOUS!!!

We were walking by and remembered we hadn't had any breakfast so decided to go in for a pre-lunch snack. I had a twist and my wife a frosted donut. Both were still fresh and tasted great. They do close at 11 so don't wait too long before going.

Great place to get great donuts. Just a little off the Riverwalk, so if you take a morning walk, just go up to street level and reward yourself. with a great tasting donut!

I wanted to try a Kolache (A tex-chech delight) and apparently a lot of donut places serve them. I got a sausage, cheddar and jalepeno Kolache. It was ok. I expted ground sausage filling, not a slim jim like stick of meat in some goo. The dough was ok. Also got a dozen donuts, They were not bad, but they... More
