Had a group of 20 or 22 people and they seated us promptly upstairs. Rudy (Rodolfo) was our only waiter and he did an excellent job! He worked hard the entire time. Food was quite good - everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. Price including tip was $345 - so about $17 per person. Owners or managers were quite friendly... More

So, the parking lot was packed but I managed to get in and get seated fairly quickly. And the food was okay, but a bit overpriced for what I got. Two major reasons I won't go back: (a) they give you a small bowl of chips and (b) they seem to put no tequila in the margarita. For the chips,... More

Stopped here after a long day at the Alamo and Riverwalk. We were looking for a place away from the hustle of the tourist crowd. This was not far. Very festive. Good variety on the menu. We even got a song from a mariachi quartet (for a small $).

Put this eatery on your bucket list! I lived in San Antonio for many years and this place was a 2 to 3 times a week visit for good food. Moved out of the San Antonio area 19 years ago, visit occasionally. This was our first stop when arriving in San Antonio this trip. Please do yourselves a favor, take... More

We always stop here when we are in town. We love the food, and there is usually a Mariachi band walking around. The fajitas are good, as well as the usual Mexican fair such as enchiladas, tamales, and tacos.

We ordered standard TexMex dishes...no real taste...poorly prepared. Surprised to experience this in San Antonio. Not going back anytime soon.

Was in the area and stopped by with my mom and husband. Had a breakfast plate and breakfast tacos at our table the barbacoa was good. The manager stopped by and talked with us for a few minutes that was really nice. Our waiter was kind of slow which was disappointing my mom had the same waiter there before and... More

Just 3 blocks from El Mercado, this is the place to eat in San Antonio. Great food, good service, and rarely a wait. I always make a stop here when I am in San Antonio. Over 15 years and the food is great every time. Try the Carne de Puerco en Chile Cascabel, my personal favorite. Owned by the same... More

I had dinner tonight - was one of only three Anglos in the restaurant. Clearly, the restaurant is a local favorite. The food was great, service was attentive (thanks, Cristina!) and my privacy was respected. You can't beat the atmosphere - a fun place!

Great restaurant. We didn't have a long wait the food was really good. Only thing would be the server took a while to get to us. Other than that all was awesome!

Thank Rebecca B

At Pico de Gallo, our high standards were set over 75 years ago when Pete Cortez, a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco opened his first restaurant, Mi Tierra. In time, popularity of the restaurant grew and a new, more spacious location had to be purchased. Today, our family owns four restaurants - La Margarita, Pico de Gallo, Viva Villa Taqueria and Mi Tierra, and Pete and Cruz's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren still uphold the same standards that were set years ago. We are still revered as one of the best Mexican food restaurants to visit, and provide a unique cultural ambience that is fun for locals and tourists alike. Conveniently located in the heart of the Alamo city, we invite you to bring your family and friends to experience everything that is Pico de Gallo.
