We had not been to the Bun N Barrel in many years and today decided to pick up lunch to go. The service was good, we were approached as we entered the door ready to serve us. However, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a brisket plate with 2 sides. The potato salad is a mixture... More

With thousands of dining options in San Antonio, we are glad we found this place. It was easy to find - a bonus when you are from it of town - the staff were friendly and professional, and the decor was definitely fun. We shared the 2-meat platter with beef and ham (we were kind of bummed they were out... More

Barbecue brisket sandwich was really yummy. They have a daily lunch special which I think is awesome. Next time I will try the lunch special.

A must try if you like BBQ in a drive in or sit down environment. Its a classic 50's throwback Texas-style. they have a burger that will melt your face but it doesnt have to be that hit if its not your thing. They've also ben featured on the Food Network and rightfully so.

It's a drive-in. (Not much more and nothing less.) It does have a homey dining room, and friendly counter service. The optional barbecue menu is a nice touch (but the barbecue sauce here definitely lacks that touch of brown sugar or molasses that makes such sauces irresistible. The prices are reasonable, although not what I'd call "cheap." Servings are on... More

We usually make a point to take in a Diners Drive-ins and Dives location on every vacation. Buns 'n Barrel was absolutely out of this world. It is a small location with a former drive in that we would probably not have noticed if we weren't looking for it. The waitress was quick and knowledgeable of the menu and made... More

The food is pretty decent especially the barbecue, the price is fair. The sweet tea is good but make sure you ask for lemons to put on it sure makes a difference. Other then that this place been around for many years in San Antonio & it's a true classic BBQ Place to enjoy eating there

Just moved to San Antonio and decided to try this place. The food was mediocre and over priced. Definitely not a place that creates return customers.

First visit to Bun N Barrel since moving to San Antonio it's considered a landmark. Just because its been here for a long time doesn't necessarily mean it's going to serve great food. At best the food and service was mediocre. The catfish dinner was horrible the fish looked and tasted like it was pre battered and frozen the side... More
