3 of us dined at Aldo's and ordered 6 items, 2 apiece, and 3 of the dishes were not very good. The lasagna was over salted to the point the diner did not eat it. The bread was very good so she filled up on that. The escargot likewise was overly salted. The mussels sat in what seemed to be... More

My wife had been asking to try Aldo's so we made a get away from home night the evening before Valentine's Day - centered on a visit to Aldo's. We had pre-selected our dinner from the menu online and stuck to it when we arrived. We had Calamari and Escargot for appetizers and Lasagna and Veal for our entrees. Those,... More

Went here for a special occasion--belated Christmas present from my daughter and her husband. We ordered a bottle of cabernet which was moderately priced but very satisfactory. Some wines there are very pricy so if money is no object, go for it. We each ordered a different dish and all four of us were raving about our dish. The bread... More

It's a dog-gone shame that such a lovely setting and friendly service has such bland food. My wife's lasagna was a dried out lump of ground meat with absolutely no liquid. My chicken piccata had a good presentation but no taste, the chef must have called in sick or is in great need of introduction to the spice cabinet. The... More

My wife and I had our first visit to Aldo's for Culinary Week. They had a $25 3 course menu with a few choices for each course. I tried the calamari. It was lightly breaded and generally tender. It was served with a marinara dipping sauce. My wife had the caprese salad and felt it was decent, but not outstanding.... More

Truly a timeless gem in San Antonio. They repurposed an old house and it feels so inviting. We were early for our reservation so they invited us into the "living room" which also houses the bar to wait on a comfortable leather couch. I could have eaten right there. They were able to seat us early and we decided to... More

Aldo's has been located in a delightful old home (80 years old) since 1985. It was a cold rainy night for us to try this hidden gem. We can't wait to go back in the Spring and sit outside on one of it's many patios. The property itself is a hidden gem, set back from a busy intersection with many... More

Came her for lunch with my parents. I had the lasagna which was great. Lunch plate all come with the house salad and bread which is a filling meal for lunch. Sitting on the enclosed patio on a sunny afternoon is lovely.

Aldo's is in an old house on the edge of the medical center. The house is surrounded by old oak trees. It is an oasis of tranquillity in the bustling medical center. The building is warm, comfortable and attractive. Nicely decorated. The waiters are excellent professionals. They do not write your order down, they remember it. The service is silent,... More

Chicken Marsala is still the best I have ever had. Have tried all over the world and none have been better.
