We went on the bus tour and the told us that Augie's had the best BBQ. The were right. They had low fat brisket that was incredible. This was the best meal that we had in San Antonio by far. Don't miss out on this restaurant.

The barbecue here was amazing! And the portions are hugeee. The guy serving was incredibly sweet and they let you sample the meats and sides before you commit.

Admittedly we came within an hour of closing but that should have made the meat smokier. I ordered "dark" meat chicken. The chicken must have been an albino because the meat was white and really breast meat. The barbecue sauce was inoffensive and unremarkable. They were out of creamed corn, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Staff was friendly. Discounts for military... More

Great BBQ and sides in a classic locale right in the park near the Zoo. Dine in or out and get your order buffet style.

Had lunch with a friend on a Tuesday and was wowed by your pleasant and helpful staff. Overall the food was good, I had green beans, pinto beans, brisket, and chicken. The boneless breast was a bit dry and dense, but that was easily fixed by applying a little sauce.

Stopped by for dinner with the family, the brisket was very tender but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever & the sausage was way to spicy. The sides were definitely not my favorite either mac & chz was rather dry & clumped together & the beans had no flavor. Maybe they were just having a bad day-but we won't be back... More

Definitely one of SA's Top 3 BBQ spots. Gets a little crowded between 11:45 and 1 pm. Long, slow line and scarce tables, but it's worth it.

Very good bbq some of the best mac and cheese I've had. Loved the bbq sauce had a very brown sugary taste. It's a good spot to stop after the zoo.

Augie's is close to zoo and Trinity University. It has a lot of character with a big school bus outside all painted up and seating inside and outside. The 1/2 pound hamburgers are amazing delicious from the bun to the meat and the fries were outstanding. The burger was one of the best I have ever had. My husband and... More
