The place looks like a dive from outside. Don't let that deter you. Food is excellent though the salsa is really hot. I had the enchiladas, my wife had a quesadilla. Both were delicious! Can't recommend it more.

Small restaurant with good, simple food. Nice burn on the sauces. Burritos (Christmas style) were good. Nice, cool, clean. You have to look to find this restaurant, but it is worth it. In a small strip mall off Cerrillos.

Great Mexican food, great service. We had a special of the day and the best part was the grilled shrimp in the guacamole.

Delicious, made when ordered food! I had the steak fajitas and the meat was tender and the bell peppers and onions were fried perfectly. My husband had chicken tacos but they didn’t have any seasoning. The beer is served in glass bottle with a cold...mug! No atmosphere but lots of locals at dinner time. Reasonably priced.More

Mom & Pop Mexican Restaurant. Excellent food and friendly atmosphere. We had a chalupa and enchiladas which were great, including the sides.

Our friends (native Medford) insisted that we dine here. Beautiful decor and almost perfect service!! How about the FOOD!?? We’ve traveled extensively throughout Mexico for 36 years. From Villahermosa to Mexicali And the Chili Rellanos were THE best ever!!! I would give them 6 stars...if I could!!More

Food took 45 minutes to come from the kitchen and there was only 3 tables with people and one table had food already. Tamales were lukewarm. I ordered fajitas medium rare but got well done and too tough to eat.

Arrived in Santa Fe at night, my hotel recommended El Comal, said it was just down the street. This restaurant is on a narrow alley way and cannot be seen from the street, especially at night. Google was no help. I drove up and down...the street and I called several times for directions, and they were no help. Once I called from the Fairfield Inn right next door and still the person at the restaurant wasn't able to give me directions!! When I finally figured it out, and went inside to get my carry out, the restaurant employees, just looked at me silently, didn't say hello, sorry you had trouble finding us, didn't say thank you when I paid and left a tip, didn't say anything as I left. The enchiladas were very good. But I will never go back. There are many wonderful restaurants in SF. No reason to go where your business is not appreciated.More

Needing a breakfast place El Comal was a short walk from the Fairfield hotel next door. So glad that we ate here. This is definitely a local joint because all the locals were there. The restaurant is observing COVID restrictions very well. All employees with...masks and gloves. Tables properly socially distanced. And breakfast was amazing!!! Hubby had French toast which he said was very yummy. Friend had pancakes that were really good. I had the Papa Rancheros which was amazing!!! Potatoes and green chili covered with cheese and two eggs however you want them and with refried beans and choice of tortilla or sopapilla. I went with the sopapilla and it was the best. Everything was so good. The service was friendly and attentive to our needs. Whenever we're back in Santa Fe this will be on our list of stops.More

I'm not local, didn't check the hours. I was there on a Saturday evening, they were open until 9 PM. The food was excellent. Love the Sopapillas with honey!
