I ordered the lox and eggs and enjoyed every bite. The bakery basket was outstanding -- had an amazing cinnamon roll.

Tecolote used to be in a kind of ramshackle building with hand me down tables and chairs, but the building was torn down. It took a long time for the restaurant to find a new location and get going again. Now in a spacious setting in a shopping center, it has zero atmosphere. They've gone touristy and the wait staff... Great breakfast and lunch and friendly service. The bread basket (muffins, cornbread, biscuits) with meals is fresh and a nice bonus.

Our visit to Tecelote was a mixed bag. One breakfast burrito, o.k., one child's hamburger, o.k., blueberry pancakes, six blueberries on top, undercooked, one waffle, o.k., but their syrup is terrible. Overall, the lunch was mediocre, at best.

We've eaten at Tecolote dozens of times, mostly because of the low prices. We haven't eaten at Tecolote dozens of times, mostly because of the infamous potatoes and inconsistent chile. Sometimes you get a great meal. We enjoy the corned beef hash (with red chile) and other American-style breakfasts there. And you always get good service. I'm sure there are... More

Everything is great, they are fast, friendly, great service and delicious food. They have breakfast all day. The huevos rancheros are yummy, the Chile is a little spicy, but just right.

If George from Game of Thrones is a fan, it's gotta be good! They have great breakfasts- a bread basket filled with homemade biscuits, green chile corn muffins, etc with fresh jam and butter. I've also had their chicken fried steak- they put brown gravy on it (which is sacrilege in Texas!) but it was still tasty!

Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago... amazing. The red and green sauce breakfast burrito was amazing! Staff was great and friendly. We didn't wait very long (five minutes, mid week morning), and would totally go back.

Red and green sauce was spicy so either ask for a sample or on the side. Bread basket that is included with the meal is so nice. There was a cinnamon roll, biscuit and corn and blueberry muffin. Every wait staff that passed by would either get you coffee, water or whatever you needed. Love when you are not depended... More

Breakfast at the Tecolote was outstanding! One of the best muffins I have ever had, and the carne adovada was so good. Huge portions, don't make the mistake of filling up on the pastry basket and coffee like we did! If you are looking for a great breakfast with attentive service, this is the place.

Tecolote Cafe was started in 1980 by Bill and Alice Jennison with a desire to feed guests great meals, affordably, with superior service. Mr. Bill and Alice's recipes have been pleasing palettes for 31 years. In May of 2010, sadly, we lost Mr. Bill after a long and accomplished life. Since August 2010, Katherine Adkins (Bill and Alice's daughter) and her husband Matt Adkins have been doing their best to honor Mr. Bill and Ms. Alice's vision in carrying on the family business. Sadly we also lost Ms.Alice in December of 2012. We offer a varied menu focusing primarily on New Mexican breakfast and lunch cuisine, as well as some American favorites. We bake all of our breads in house as well as our muffins and biscuits contained in our bakery basket. A little known secret to our great burgers? Fresh baked Kaiser rolls to vehicle our superb patties and ingredients. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, we are sure you will be pleased with our delectable choices and our warm, friendly atmosphere. If you aren't, just let us know so we can make your experience everything you hoped for!Katie and I can't wait to see you on your next visit. So, come on in, and remember, we serve "Great breakfast, No toast!", just for you.
