Went here when our first choice (the Shed) was booked solid, but so glad we did. The tapas were excellent, especially the evening specialties (mussels).

My husband & I travel to Europe often, but love El Meson because you feel like you're really in Spain. Recently we dined there with another Santa Fe couple who also love Spanish food & wine. The ambience & service was excellent. Some ordered soup...More

A group of us came here for dinner after an all-day meeting. They were easily able to accommodate us at a large table with prompt friendly service and delicious tapas-style dishes which we shared. Some of us stayed on for the music. All in all,...More

Music saved the evening! We sat in the tapa-dining area and were able to enjoy a jazz band. It was the highlight of the evening. As for dining, it was a total disappointment. This was the first time I had eaten so much deep fried...More

For a family dinner, we opted to share tapas instead of ordering entrees. Our selections included: calamari, Serrano ham, patatas, tuna empanadas and chorizo and morcilla. Everything was well-prepared and very tasty. For the adults, a pitcher of Sangria provided a nice accompaniment.

On a recommendation from a family member, made reservation for dinner. The staff and food were first class. Had the seafood chowder, Maine mussels and the assorted meats on the mixed grill (wife and I shared the mussels and mixed grill and had leftovers!) Highly...More

My wife and I enjoyed a great evening at El Meson. We had reservations in the dining room, but decided to switch to the tapas bar when we heard there was live music. The acoustic guitar player was excellent. Our tapas were delicious. We shared...More

We wanted something near the plaza but not the ubiquitous New Mexican soul food. El Meson hit the spot. We called ahead for a reservation in the Tapas bar so we could catch the Spanish guitarist. The bar wasn’t busy late on a Wednesday so...More

El Meson was simply a step or two above all other restaurants. It's Tapas style foods in the bar room with live music and Sangria on Saturday night made the evening unbelievable. I brought my wife their for her 60th Birthday and we had a...More

Not sure about what time the music starts. I do not believe there is a charge for the flamenco but the performances are in the bar portion of the building and I have only dined in the restaurant portion. I would call the... More

Hi! I wanted to dine in the Bar and go tapa crazy but the rest of our party wanted the main dining room. It is quieter and we still went tapa crazy. Enjoy!

Saffron, fresh seafood, tapas, jamón and paella. Signature dishes from Andalucia, Catalonia, Madrid and the exotic regions of Spain. Live Flamenco, Blues, Tango and Jazz. Sangria, full bar and a fine wine bodega. Highly-trained staff and a chef from Spain – El Mesón has it all.
