Very popular place. We were lucky to get a table straight away but of course it was next to the bathroom. Waitress was good. Menu had some different appetizers, we had 3, the smoked trout was good. The Brussel sprouts were ok and the breaded...More

The Student Prince, but always called "The Fort" in my family, is an institution. It's been going since the 1930's and the dining room still has the ambience of the 1930's with it's wood paneling and pillars. It was owned and operated by the same...More

Holly, Thanks for the nice review. the Student Prince/Fort has some wonderful history and the decor reflects the origin of the restaurant in the 1930's. New owner ship has opened the space up a bit and brightened it, but it is still familiar. We have...More

I had a business luncheon and a political fundraiser at this famous old German restaurant and tavern recently. It was painstakingly restored to its original 1930's splendor within the last two or three years. There are hundreds of German beer steins, plates, wood carvings and...More

David, Thanks for the nice review. We are glad that you enjoy the renewal of the restaurant. Our lamb shank is delicious and the best selling item at this Germanic restaurant is the old New English standard of broiled Scrod.

Thanks for the nice review. I love German Potato Salad, with or without bacon. Sadly a lot of people are ignorant of this dish and we often had people sending the salad back because it had neither mayonnaise or celery. We do run it as...More

A large party of 11 and they sat us promptly on time. Servers were pleasant and accommodating with a couple who are vegan. They were knowledgeable about the food and beverage choices. Food was excellent. As was the service.

We, all 9 of us came in for an early dinner around 4 pm. We had a reservation but seating would not have been a problem since there is ample room in the dinning area. Our waiter was prompt and friendly. Our appetizers came out...More

We have been happy that the guests at the casino take a break from gaming and a walk down Main Street to the restaurant. although the casino has several dining venues, they are without Germanic options, we also serve excellent seafood and steaks. Thanks for...More

This noisy restaurant features German food. Unfortunately, our food was not very good. My meat loaf was ok but it was covered with a gravy that was very salty. My wife's veal was swimming in a white sauce with little flavor. Our friend had some...More

I am glad that you were happy with your dining experience. Some things have changed and perhaps needed to be changed. I will check out the coffee and make sure that it is being properly brewed. We hope to see you again on Fort Street.
