We were just walking around trying to decide on a dinner and came across this place, what a great decision we made stopping here for dinner! Quaint and cozy inside, our waitress was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu! she was also very friendly. We all had some pasta and one plate was better than the next? If you... More

We were struggling to find restaurants in Newport, RI, that could accommodate a vegetarian (with vegan tendencies), a pescatarian and someone who doesn't eat red meat when we came across Mamma Luisa's Restaurant using Tripadvisor. Ratings seemed good, and we quickly discovered this little restaurant in a tiny old house is very popular and reservations were definitely needed. Our reservation... More

We had wandered around a bit trying to find a place to eat on our first night in Newport and found this little gem. It's in an old house that's been converted into a restaurant, we were on the second floor. It was cosy and charming. The waitress was great and the food excellent. We had the Tagliatelle al Ragu... I picked this place since I wanted some good Italian food and we could walk to it. Place is in an old house so very tight quarters. Waiter asked what type of water I wanted and I chose sparkling. Little did I know there was a $5.50 charge for my water. My dish of spinach/cheese gnocchi was good. Husband ordered... More

We love this restaurant. Such wonderful, authentic Italian cooking in a charming Victorian house! There's a cosy feel, but the tables are mostly arranged with diners back to back with each other to allow for private conversation. We generally like to share courses, so we began with the cheese plate, followed by the melt-in-your-mouth bombetta (gnocchi) for our primi, then... More

Having been to Italy many times the food here is better. The owner himself was born in Italy and has the perfect touch. The restaurant itself is in a house with two floors and makes for a very warm feeling.

We walked into this place on a bitterly cold March night without reservations. They were so gracious and seated us anyway. It is a tiny place with eating space on multi levels. It was tight but cozy. Wait staff was very friendly and solicitous. We started with a simple but tasty vegetable soup and some melon with prosciutto. The melon... More

The pasta here is cooked perfectly (al dente without being undercooked if you know what i mean). The pomadoro sauce is also great and all my family liked their different pasta sauces too. The first time i went the waitress was a bit sassy and gave me an attitude for wanting plain pomadoro sauce pasta. The next time we went... More
