This restaurant is a step back in time. Plenty of comfort food is available. Some items were a hit like the hot bacon slaw, sauerbraten, and potato cake. Some items like the rolls and noodles were average. Their main item, fried chicken, was also average.

This is the place for Chicken. Golden brown and Juicy inside. We ate in the bar room and had great food and equally great service. We were a party if 5 and we were there and gone within a hour. If you like chicken stop here you will have fun and fill. We did

I took my mother to Ron's Roost for dinner a couple of nights ago. They had a good variety on the menu. We both decided on the fried chicken since that is supposed to be their specialty. It was good, we were not disappointed. The meal came with your choice of two sides and they served fresh baked bread which... More

Ron' s Roost has been open for 60 years and the food is why. The fried chicken is so good. They offer all you can eat buffets on a few nights a week. Check their website for details. They also have the BEST in the WEST Hot bacon Slaw. They have a vast selections from salads, to full dinners. Remember... More

Known for their fried chicken, but equally specializing in traditional German fare, this combination family restaurant & sports bar offers a wide variety of lunch and dinner options, and is truly a family friendly environment. Finding the place is easy - watch for the 10 foot rooster in the bed of an El Camino (or Ranchero). Entry to the parking... More

For $13 a pop you'd think the buffet would be exceptional. Instead, you get industrial, just-add-water mashed potatoes, congealed gravy, off-flavored mac and cheese, sodium-laced green beans and stewed tomatoes (stewed tomatoes, really?). While the chicken is good, the pieces are small and, like the green beans, there's a ton of salt. The service was very, very good, and our... More

As occasional visitor to Cincinnati I've always tried to visit Ron's at least once each time I am in town. This year I brought some family members who also are from out of town and was a bit disappointed. The fried chicken, hot slaw and mock turtle soup were good but all else was average. As I said I felt... More

Originally founded with chicken as their main dish we have been going here for years and in that time they have expanded out into excellent ribs, chicken, and german dishes. If you've never been to the Roost it's worth planning a trip. Great staff and friendly people are always at the Roost.
