Located in the heart of Vienna, Istanbul Blue offers great kabobs and friendly service. They have beef, lamb, chicken and Donner kabob along with fish. I had kunafa and Turkish tea to top off a great plate of mixed grill, everything was 100% satisfying. The restaurant maintains its standard with posh furniture, cleanliness and ambiance. The owner and chief chef, Mr. Ismet, mentioned that they cater to a lot of Washington embassies as well. No wonder it has belted an award of excellence.

Four for dinner. Welcoming staff with whom it was easy to make reservations, including accommodation for a physically challenged guest who cannot climb to the second floor.
Servers back each other up which allows for good care. Cuisine evocative of being in Turkey served with a smile. Despite a very busy Saturday evening, it felt like a very friendly team providing good food in a room quiet enough to converse easily. Enjoy!

We visited the place again after about two years; Istanbul Blue charmed us with excellent food and flawless service. We ordered Turkish appetizer platter, lamb, kofta and others to break our fast during Ramadan, everything was A+. Turkish tea was simply fabulous after a long day. The waiter served us tirelessly without any delay at all. There is a spacious room upstairs where the waiters have to run up and serve food, and maintain the same service. Once the pandemic hit the world, service has gone down so bad in many big name restaurants, but Istanbul Blue still does the magic.

First, it was very cold in the restaurant -- we heard other diners also complaining about how cold it was and we too asked that they turn up the heat. It was in the low 40s out and a windy March day. You had to keep your jacket on in order to stay and eat here.
Second, they did not have some menu items that we wanted like Turkish wine. And at first they said they were out of lamb kebob but in the end I guess they found some as they came back to say okay, we could get that. The food was okay, not exceptional. The bread felt and tasted stale. It is not pita. It is thick and one piece was served for the 3 of us. The hot appetizers were better than the cold ones.
The server was friendly and very apologetic for the cold conditions.
They serve Turkish coffee in darling tiny cups that are in a metal carrier with a metal top.
The best item was the baklava made with pistachios for dessert. Luckily we each ordered our own and did not plan to split them as the serving was very small so it was something that was clearly per person and not meant to be divided.
Most likely we will not return. There is a Turkish restaurant up in Baltimore we like a lot better!

We just enjoyed a delicious meal provided by a happy and personable wait staff. Very recommendable intimate restaurant. An added bonus is a round table suitable for 5-6 diners which is conducive to an inclusive conversation.

I came to Istanbul Blue the day after I went to another restaurant which left me disappointed.
This is a small place. Simple décor. But the service was fast. The food very good and portions were huge. Very very good Turkish-Mediterranean food! And the price was quite reasonable.
The kabobs were excellent. And my daughter enjoyed her Turkish tea. Reminded her of the tea we had went we went to Kusadasi.
There seems to be just a few people working there but the service was quick as the place was not full.
Parking was not a problem. Ample parking spots.
Would I come back here?? Absolutely!!

We love Mediterranean food and this was very good and authentic! Shared the platter appetizer which had a great assortment. All of our meals including vegetarian dishes were excellent! Would definitely go back. Make a reservation.

Good food ,, only thing I didn’t like was the beef kabobs they were tough ,,, the kofta , chicken kabob and gyro were delicious

Don't know why we haven't been back more often since the food is very good and the service equally as good. I had the Lamb Kabab and the wife had the Donner Kabab - and both were very tasty and fixed just right. We also each received a complementary cup of Red Lentil soup - which was also tasty.

Awesome service. Amazing tasty entrees to choose from, and so many choices. The Turkish wines are some of the best I've ever tasted. incredible. I would recommend this restaurant any day any time. The atmosphere with the blue periwinkle walls and pictures of Istanbul were very warming and beautiful.

Fabulous, authentic, compared to Turkish and Mediterranean food eaten along the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoyed Cigara Boregi appetizer, Greek Salad (Large), complementary Lentil Soup and bread, Chicken Kabob, and Lamb Kabob. All delicious. Graciously met at the entry. The water glasses were rapidly filled, and server asked about food quality very often. Abundant nearby parking on a Saturday evening. Oh and the Istanbul Blue Mix was tasty and beautiful.

We came upon Istanbul Blue because we were looking for a dinner before a concert at Wolf Trap. We are always attracted to Mediterranean or Middle Easter restaurants. But we were highly impressed with the quality of the food and service here. The food is authentic and delicious. If you like Greek food, you will love the Turkish food here even more. The Turkish Coban salad was very tasty and the seasoning was well balanced. The appetizer platter was plentiful and beautifully served; probably the best feta cheese we have ever had. The mixed grill was generous, tender and delicious. The musaka was as good as any version of this dish that we have enjoyed anywhere, even in Greece. We will definitely return to Istanbul Blue the next time we are in the area for a concert. Great job!

The five of us reserved a front table for dinner ahead of a concert nearby. The menu is authentic Turkish (mostly) and includes a number of winners: the lentil soup was delicious & spicy; the calamari was actually tender. My wife liked her Imam Bayildi (an eggplant entree) and our friends liked their lamb shank. I thought my Pude Kucluk (a turkish pizza with sausage and peppers) was just so-so. But the place was QUIET (excuse me, quiet) and decor, while nothing fancy, was easy on the eyes.
