Visited here with friends on a busy rowing weekend. They had 4/5 waiting staff on, but we had to go up to the bar to order meal as we waited for 15 minutes to be asked for our order at our table and nobody came. One of our meals got forgotten about and the young waitress was really apologetic and... More

Thank you for your review. Im really sorry to hear you had to wait for some attention. I have spoken with our staff and asked if they would be sure to acknowledge everyone when they are seated to ensure a better experience. Grumpy staff are no longer working here. We are always trying to improve and while it was busy,... More

4 of us ordered the Big Breakfast. I ordered poached eggs with mine. They came a funny brown colour and raw. I sent them back to be sent another couple of raw disgusting eggs. We paid $18.50 each for the breakfasts, which said they came with "ciabatta" bread, ours came with white sliced supermarket brought bread. After questioning this I... More

Thank you for your review. I must first apologise for your bad experience. I can not for the life of me explain brown poached eggs. Im also not sure how raw eggs were served. The ciabatta bread was a temporary issue with our bakery supplier . The information you got was incorrect. I have spoken to the waitress also. Our... More

Our friends and us went here for dinner and the place was very busy which should have been a good sign. The ladies ordered the blue cod and us fellas had the bone in rib eye. The service was good and the plates were served in an attractive manner. The cod was cooked okay and the veggies etc were okay... More

Thanks for your review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the presentation of our plates. I have passed this on along with the your other comments. People travel far and wide for our blue cod and steaks and we generally get very good face to face comments about most of our meals. Our steaks are cooked Sous Vide style then char... More

Chowder served in a Cob Loaf just goes right to my hips.....I mean heart. I love it. This one had heaps of great chunky fishy bits. I kept dipping in and finding more each time. My pet hate is having a mussel still in the shell so I to half a point off for this. So how did this humble... More

We ate here several years ago and it was terrible. Lots of locals have been saying how good it is so we gave it ago! So much has been done. Decore looks great. Front has changed and honestly makes the whole side of town look much better. Menu was not cheap for a pub. But they had specials like Rugby... More

Comfortable and relaxed surroundings combined with friendly service and just good basic fare. Perfect for a low key, reasonably quick meal. Perfect for what we wanted. Burgers were as good as anywhere else in my view.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food arrived promptly. Portions were generous and the fayre was at the better end of pub food. The beer on tap was Speights, which was fine. Reasonable prices.

Ordered several meals and was typical pub food. Lots of food but was very average. Came out fast but nothing special. If nothing else open then would eat there again otherwise there are better places in Twizel.
