I had a coffee and my wife had a berry smoothie. We shared a plate of chips. I enjoyed the coffee, and the aoli with the chips was amazing. My wife asked for her smoothie without dairy, and they accommodated her request with no issue whatsoever.

Had a nice dinner here - not too upmarket and reasonably priced. Wanaka is a beautiful place, and the restaurant is well located and friendly staff. Food was good.

We were tod by a local that this is a great place for breakfast and it is. But what a lot of people don't realise is that its also a great place for dinner. Friendly, a modest but interesting menu and reasonable prices. Highly recommended for a great meal.

Great service and food. Portions were generous and my 3yr old was really happy with the bangers & mash. Appreciated the recommendations on wine too and enjoyed a lovely local Pinot with our steak.

... this is the place to visit. Relishes serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with cafe food in between. On every visit to Wanaka we make at least one visit to this cafe/restaurant, but our favorite meal there is breakfast, particularly their scrambled egg on ciabatta with bacon. Very tasty.

It was a rocky start as I waited and waited at a table to be served so eventually I had to go up to the counter even though they do table service. The coffee was average, service was average but location is a great.

Visited after recommendation but hugely disappointed with menu, service and eventually, after a very long wait, average food at expensive prices.

Went there for breakfast. Fried eggs were great, not too runny when you dabbed them with the toast. You could actually cut the sour bread toast without it flying off your plate which happens in a lot of other cafes. Whatever is their secret to soft toast - keep it up. Coffee was really good and service very friendly and... More

We ate here one rainy night in November. The food was reasonably good but very slow in coming, to the point where we almost were ready to give up and go home to bed when it finally arrived. The host at our lodge recommended Relishes so it may have better nights, but it was not impressive on this occasion.

This is the most unfriendly service I've ever gotten in New Zealand. The staff seemed slightly annoyed by our presence, and when I asked a question about the menu were very condescending. I ordered the duck, and when it arrived I noticed it had red juice coming out of it. Being pregnant I didn't want to risk eating it and... More

Description
With our lakefront setting, spectacular views of the majestic Southern Alps, contemporary and innovative cuisine, and fresh daily baked goods, Relishes Cafe has become something of a Wanaka institution. We are open from 7am till late offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy a glass of wine from our extensive list of local and New Zealand wines or a cup of locally roasted fair trade organic Venus coffee in a casual atmosphere. In summer, the double French doors are opened wide to fully enjoy the stunning lake view, and in winter, a roaring fire displaces the chill after a day playing on the mountains. As a family run business, we welcome even the littlest members of your family by providing a children's menu, a well loved toy box, and a highchair. We happily cater to special dietary needs and also to special events when our in house baker creates delicious cakes to celebrate your occasion! With an abundance of local produce, meats, eggs, and wine grown in the Otago region on our doorstep, there is no need to go further afield for ingredients that will create flavours to delight the palate. Dishes highlight seasonal produce, locally found herbs like horopito, free range eggs, and meats that come from the region, some coming from just down the road. Drawn by the allures of Wanaka after many holiday visits, brother and sister Toby and Tash, along with Tash's husband Paul, bought Relishes Cafe. Showcasing their passion for food, wine, and travel, the trio are frequently seen both in the kitchen and on the house floor. Head Chef Silvia has traveled the world and has an extensive culinary background including experience in Europe. She draws on her international experience to whip up culinary fusions with a Kiwi touch. Serving up twice daily blackboard specials, she and her team continuously bring something new to the table.
