Ate in cafe on Friday evening. Did not pre book. Disappointed initially as no local plaice nor Exe mussels available on the day, so chose the local hake which was offered either battered or grilled -I chose the grilled option and found it to be cooked to perfection with good crisp chips and home made tartare sauce. My husband chose... More

Great fish and chip just a 5 min walk to the beach or they have a seated restaurant. We have always had takeaway as the beach views are amazing. They cook to order so it can take a few minutes but the wait is worth it. Great portion size with great crispy batter and as good a chip as you... More

Four of us ate here. The men had fish and chips which was excellent. The women had a very good fish pie. We had the smaller portions and were glad we did. Service very good but not the surroundings to linger in.

Good food and very friendly service. We had fish and chips twice, and a pleasant glass of house wine.

Oh dear how the mighty have fallen. I don't know what's going on at Premier Cafe but something has gone a bit awry. Not very good at all the last couple of times we've been, the chips have been soggy and if I wanted a minnow I would ask for one. Certainly not good value for money any more. Things... More

We had been aware of the time it takes to get served but thought we would be ok when entering to find only one person inside placing an order. we were WRONG. 40 minutes to get our order of two meals because as we had been warned ,they always stop serving people who have bothered to turn up for their... Eat in or take away. Small medium and ginormous portions. The very large portion I swear is a battered whale it is so big. The cod and chips (small portion) consisted of two good sized pieces of fish and a large portion of chips. Everything tasted just like old fashioned fish and chips and were lovely. Got to be the... Visited during a busy August weekend and had to wait 30 mins for a take away fish and chips meal. To be honest the meal was fine but nothing great - I've had better. I'm not a great lover of thick brown batter - light and golden is more my type, but this batter was heavy and over done for... More

This place needs a total overhaul, we waited 45 minutes for our fish & chips, had no apology & most of the time the staff were stood around waiting for something to happen? God knows why they couldnt get the orders straight away & be ready. Sort it out!!
