My family and friends have visited this pub for over 20 years, the last time we noticed it had became more expensive for pub grub. And the staff were different . Not sure if it's been taken over. But visiting today with a friend for lunch, the car park was almost empty , we walked in and asked for a... More

The plan was to meet friends for a dog walk on Camber Sands, but where to go for lunch? A quick search brought up The Queens Head which looked great online. When we got there on a Tuesday post Easter the place was absolutely rocking at 1220! We received a very warm greeting, as did our respective dogs, and were... More

This is a country pub you may need a reservation for. A favourite with locals and travelers, it is busy any day of the week. Excellent pub food with a large range of good beers. A fireplace keeps you warm when its cold and wet, and the garden offers views when the sun is out.

Lunch today, a Monday, at the Queen's Head is what good simple cooking should be all about! I had grilled skate (which I had never had before), my wife scallops, and both were perfectly done, fully cooked yet moist (which can be tricky with scallops), with the natural flavours brought to the fore. Accompanying were cooked vegetables that were equally... More

Cosy bar with log fire on a cold windy day! It's also nice to sit outside with lovely views over the river Brede valley to Rye. Really good menu - lots of favourite choices but highlight is local fish beautifully cooked. Home made puddings are yummy. Harvey's beer on tap. All reasonably priced and service is very efficient. Helpings are... More

Visited this lovely old pub for mid week lunch. Haven't been here for years and not much has changed. 2 roaring log fires on the go. Varied menu of traditional pub lunch and more modern meals. Chose pasta with chicken and chorizo and my friend chose steak and kidney pudding. Huge serving. Very tasty. Quite expensive for pub food. Arrived... More

We stopped at The Queens Head whilst walking the 1066 Country Path. The pub was a welcome stop off point for a drink. We found the staff very welcoming and were pleasantly surprised to find a live band playing (this was a Sunday afternoon). Would love to visit again when we can spend more time there.

We have noticed this pub on numerous occasions whilst driving past on the A259, it is set back a little from the main road so could be easily missed. Looking after the grandchildren during half term we decided to call in as this is somewhere new for us to try lunch; what a very pleasant surprise awaited us. Externally the... More
