I wish they had this back home. It's a big place with tables and each one has a number. You pick a table and then you walk around the court to check all the foodstalls. When you have decided what you want to eat, you order and mention your table number. They prepare your food, bring it to your table... More

Hawker centre set-up with local food. I came from Singapore, so I have been to better hawker centres. Food prices are reasonable but it does not have many stalls, though we liked their Hokkien noodles and fresh coconut drink! Roti John was a bit different compared with those in Singapore. Could not find my favourite chendol dessert :-(

I ate at this hawker centre mainly because searching for a car park in Penang is a nightmare and ir was quite near where I stayed. There are only a few stalls that were good - oyster omelette, prawn mee, BBQ fish. There others were poor to average. The satay stall opened late so no chance to try it. Overall... More

No where in the world gave I enjoyed the quality or choice of food as I have at Long Beach food court. Freshly cooked meals, and I mean large servings for a US $1. I could not believe the choice, nor the number of offerings from all parts of the world. Prices we wish we could get in our home... More

We found this lovely area where you have many choices of cuisine and you pick a table then order whatever you fancy as many choices ie Indian, Chinese, Malaysian, Western etc. The drinks which include Beer and Wine are served from a central point. We visited 4 nights and saw lots of people there staying at the same hotel. Very... More

A popular option for tourists staying on Batu Farringhi, but also a place the locals respect. Although I have been here a number of times over the past five years, it's hard to go past the satay and the spring rolls. Both delicicious and the taste of proper satay is something I miss. Lots of choices for the family and... More

Super cheap food and lots of selection. Walk around and order with one of the stalls, just give them your table number. Pay when they bring you your food. I tried 2 dishes each time I went because I didn't want to miss out! Plenty of vegetarian options.

The Hawker's night market is a wonderful street market with plenty of stores and places to eat. Centrally located in the Long Island eating area. This is full of a range of amazing foods, all at such a great price. We have eaten there a couple of times and have really enjoyed the food. I would recommend it to anyone... More

Long Beach is a collection of street stalls surrounding the sitting area. It is located outside and offers many cuisines including Malaysian. In the area there are not so many restaurants offering Malay food so I thought it appropiate to add this 'restaurant' to the listings, although most would probably not class it as a conventional one!
