Another place with comprehensive menu at tourist prices, with a small core of standard affordable plates. Fruit juices overpriced and made with over ripe fruits. Apparently it was much better under previous ownership when it was Mar a Plata.

It wasn't the most amazing eating experience ever but I wouldn't object to going back there. The food prices were okay and the quality of food was okay.

We had the best food here. I had the stew chicken with rice and lentils, it was sooo full of flavour and delicious. We also had the mix fried rice which was good. Sit outside though since its a bit smokey on the inside and you come out smelling like you have been cooking for hours. Will definitely be going... More

Picked it because it was right across the street from where the bus from Panama City dropped us off. We were tired and hungry, and didn't feel like dragging our bags around the town. After a few days in El Valle, we had worked our way up and down most of the Panamanian places on main street (including the ones... More

The server was prompt and took our order right away. It took a very long time before we all had our drinks. They started serving the food to us one plate at a time. Five to ten minutes later another plate came out and so on. The grilled beef strips was mediocre. The octopus was the worst I have ever... More

Eating in Panama (at least for me) sometimes feels like a chore instead of a joy. So much sameness - fried fish, rice, a bean, plantains, no spice, can't find a veg to save my life. Instead of looking forward to dinner, I am thinking, let's get this over with as painlessly as possible. So when in El Valle, wanted... More

Decided on having a late lunch after walking the town of El Valle de Anton. Friendly waiter explained some of the menu items and chose one he recommended. It was a steak and onions platter with salad and papas fritas. Very tasty and inexpensive. Had a couple of cervezas and just sat and enjoyed the people walking and driving by.

The food was well prepared and the service good, nice to have a local dish. We have been in El Valle and enjoyed local food. The man serving was very pleasant. The place is small and seat only about 25 people.

We came here for lunch and had eggs with patacones (fried plaintains) from the breakfast menu and vegetable soup with fries. I also had orange juice. The clientele were predominantly Spanish-speaking but the menu was also in English. Service was good. The breakfast was very good while the soup was okay. It was cheap and cheerful - we would try... We ate here on our first evening in El Valle de Anton. We wanted to try something local, which is pretty much what we got. The food was very basic but tasted ok. It was chicken and rice so there's not much too go wrong really. They had a fairly limited menu but I think that was to be expected... More
