We called in for a mid week meal during our recent stay along the road. The restaurant is in a stunning location overlooking loch lochy and our expectations were high. The menu offered many delights but after spending a good 10 minutes choosing our starters and main courses, we were told that two of the dishes we wanted were not... More

The food was fine, nothing special. A seafood linguine dish was cooked fine, had some local mussels, hot-smoked salmon, one large scallop, and some kind of whitefish (maybe haddock). The garlic and butter sauce was understated, which suited me. Mussels steamed with cider and bacon were delicious, although roughly a third of the mussels were unopened when served (meaning not... The Osprey Restaurant stays in my mind for its fine food, great views and excellent service. I'm not normally a great fan of fish but the meal we had was marvellous. The views across the loch add to the occasion and the service is all we could wish for.

The haggis starter is in a league of its own, I am not a fish lover but the smoked haddock was a treat, hubby enthused about the sea bream.

The restaurant is part of the Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel. Perched right over Loch Lochy, it has a magnificent view of the mountains and the beautiful loch. We had the special of the day, which was a hearty serving of 8 large fresh langoustines. It was big enough for two people to share. We also had mussels, which are fresh and... More

Stopped here for lunch on the way to the Isle of Sky. Rare day of sunshine in a rainy week, so sat on the deck overlooking the Loch and mountains. Incredible. Good menu, Meals can be a large lunch or a dinner (same menu I think). My wife had the shrimp platter---nicely fried but not greasy breaded shrimp and chips,... More

We stopped for dinner here on our first day in Scotland, having driven from Glasgow and on our way to Loch Ness. They had just opened for dinner, and besides us there was only one couple in the restaurant, but our service was unimpressive. My friend and I both ordered fish and chips, which were mediocre and expensive.

Ate here twice during a week in the highlands. It is a nice place to relax and have a leisurely meal with friends, with some stunning scenery as a backdrop. The food was good and the service was attentive. Kids happy with children's menu
