This is the second time visiting Kota Kai and love the food there. We went on one of the theme nights they hold in November. It is mainly Asian inspired food and very tasty. Would definitely go back again.

Very friendly welcome at this restaurant, where we were looked after by the excellent Jenna. We had a bowl of olives before our starter, which were great value. I have paid twice as much for half as many olives elsewhere. I chose a Bao Bap...More

Great food and lovely atmosphere (although very bright haha maybe dim the lights a little!) Bao buns were a highlight, as was the feather blade steak and the massaman curry. Fantastic Asian flavours and huge portions, you had better be hungry when you arrive. Fab...More

First time staying and eating in Porthleven and decided to try Kota Kai. Really nice setting and without wanting to sound like Micky Flannigan, the whole place had a nice ambience. Great recipe, took a along time to choose and a nice selection of drinks...More

Great welcome from the staff. Fantastic bao buns - soft white and fluffy filled with deliciousness (duck or pork belly in this case) wonderful crispy tempura oysters. Once the starters were done we were ready for mains and they didn’t disappoint. Kids had the crispy...More

No, we don't allow dogs inside, but we have tables outside on the Harbour Head (weather permitting!) where they are more than welcome.

Description
Kota Kai occupies the whole of the top floor of Celtic House and has unbeatable views across Porthleven harbour and beyond. Almost every table in the restaurant benefits from these views as the tables run alongside the many windows at the front of the building. The food is simpler than at Kota (our big sister restaurant), but all great quality using local ingredients and there is a fantastic variety of dishes including oysters, mussels, steak, burger and Asian dishes. We also have a selection of 'mini Kai', i.e. small plates such as salt & pepper squid, beef carpaccio, ham & cheese croquettes and mini fishcakes.
