What a terrible shame that such a wonderful old building is being run so poorly. Reception staff are lovely, helpful and friendly but unfortunately there the positives end. At check in the credit card pin pad was absolutely vile, so bad I felt the need to wash my hands after using it. The rest of the reception area wasn't much... More

If you are in a hurry, want clean glasses, clean cutlery and service then avoid this place! We arrived and waited 15 minutes before anyone showed up behind the bar only to be served by a very harassed lady who told us they didn't have enough staff. She had 3 attempts at finding clean glasses behind the bar as they... More

Why, oh why do Greene King insist on under-staffing, and perhaps under-resourcing this place? When it’s good it’s very good, when it isn’t it isn’t. And many of the problems are due, it appears, to cost-cutting. We went, as we often do, on a Thursday, for a pleasant, local, dinner. The bar-maid and part-time waitress was cheerful, but very rushed.... More

Friendly staff and the food was enjoyable with plenty of gravy (always important to me). Service not particularly speedy but I was in no rush.

Went here for a meal for family, the dining experience was poor, but I suppose with some comedic value on the plus side. We were a group of 8, so had to pre-order our meal in advance. Despite this, they got one of the meals wrong. They also brought out the appetisers (for those having them) at the same time... More

Went there on new years eve, all pre booked menu choices, so the restaurant knows exactly what is required. After two and a half hours, we eventually got our main courses, which were supposed to be "medium" rib eye steaks. They arrived, but were so rare they were blue. When we complained, we were told that they have a new... More

We always stop here when visiting family, and can always rely on a well priced and nice food and this time did not disappoint. The White Hart is a lovely old building the main main area could do with a little updating, and a few more staff, but they serve you as quickly as possible and for us nothing was... More
