We wanted somewhere to stop on our way north and came across this place which proved to be ideal. The lunches that we had were good and service was good. They did tell us when we ordered that there would be a little delay as they were busy so that was fine. The food shop was interesting with a good... More

In addition to the Tearoom, this place has a decent farm shop with a good range of fresh meat and pre-cooked frozen meals etc. There is also a smart gift shop. When we visited it was busy in the upstairs restaurant, which only left the downstairs "barn" seating as an option. Fine on a warm day no doubt, but cold... More

Lovely food however my husband paid extra £1.50 for cheese on his burger and when it came there was very little he would of got more cheese if they'd put a cheese slice on it. So I wouldn't bother not worth it.

Had Sunday Lunch here, with 32 other couples.( Caravan Rally). The staff were very good and managed to serve everybody very swiftly. Food was good, the siting of our tables could have been better. So next time we will make sure the group are up stairs rather than in the Barn area. All in all a good meal.

Called here on Good Friday for the first time. The barn area was heaving as was the upstairs tearoom. We ate downstairs, had a wait for our food which we were told about before we ordered so didn't mind. We all had paninis and they were 'proper paninis'. Can highly recommend the steak and cheese. The Farmshop stocks lots of... More

Sandwiches, check. Burgers, check. Ham, check. Salad, check. Service, check. All in all a good traditional tea room with lots of local produce available to take away and a feeling of space, even on a busy Saturday.

I have wanted to visit this farm shop for a while and today I have managed it. We ordered a cream tea and pate. The pot of tea with the scone and jam etc arrived quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait for over half an hour for the pate and it only arrived after asking the staff. Others who had... More

Beautiful Sunday for a ride to beadlam grange for a proper well cooked lunch. Have been on various occasions and always enjoyed a bit of banter with the waitresses. Well this time I ordered our drinks, my wife a ginger beer and myself a calsbergh, unfortunately my wife's came correct but what arrived for me was a glass of cows... More

Hi Barry, Many thanks for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch! We had a good laugh about the cows milk :-) Our waitress was very embarrassed about it & I'm sure will be reminded about it for a while yet! We look forward to seeing you again soon. More

Description
The Granary Tearoom The Old Granary is full of charm and character with its original oak beams and small latted windows and is a delightful place to meet up with friends and enjoy traditional farmhouse fayre. It is extremely comfortable and warm (a bitterly cold day in December at the time of writing!). All the hot water and heating in the Farmshop & Tearoom is supplied from a very efficient woodchip burner which is Mark's pride and joy!!We serve freshly brewed Yorkshire Tea and Coopers Coffee together with home baked scones, cakes and pastries, farmhouse breakfasts, cooked lunches and afternoon teas with "Specials" on the menu every day. All meals are cooked fresh to order and the ingredients may be purchased in the Farmshop! On Sundays we serve a traditional Sunday lunch of Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding and booking is advisable. The Farmshop & Tearoom is licensed and we offer an excellent selection of wines and beers etc. For customers unable to negotiate the stairsthere are two tables in the Farmshop with waitress service.Meals can be taken at the picnic tables in the covered foldyard next to the Childrens' Play Area and during the summer months we have tables and chairs outside in the sunshine!Farm Shop Customers can enjoy a "Unique Farm Shopping Experience" in lovely surroundings and purchase fresh farm produce "a complete meal" and enjoy tea and coffee and farmhouse baking in our traditional Granary Tearoom. We provide ample freeparking, toilets and disabled access.Pride of place in the Farmshop is our fresh meat counter with our own resident Butcher who can offer you advice about particular cuts of meat and cooking instructions! The counter is full of our home grown beef together with lamb, pork, local free range poultry, game, sausages, burgers, "Jenny's Wellies", Mark's Tractor Wheels, Chicken parcels, Yorkshire bacon, gammon and so much more!!Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered daily and to compliment the fresh, seasonal produce we have freezers full of a great selection of loose fruit and vegetables which are all prepared ready to go straight into the oven. We also sell "Cooks" Frozen Ready Meals which are very popular with our customers. They are excellent quality and very good value. We have two Cooks's Freezers full of savoury meals in both one and twoportions and also puddings, roulades and cheesecakes for special occasions.
